Thanks gals, it means a lot to me :) Japan is going great--part of the reason I don't think I'll be online as much is because I have so much fun stuff going on in real life now!

Wow, it looks like everyone has changed their names . . . hmm.

Just wanted to post that I now have internet access! So I'm kinda back for good. Although I'm not sure how much I can be here . . . my life is now weirdly disconnected from everything I used to do at home, including online stuff.

But I do miss the TOO, so, yeah, I'll kinda be here :)

I'm about halfway through reading the fanfiction you have posted, Joni. It's brilliant. Thanks, Library Geek! It means so much to me when fellow Richard Maxwell fans enjoy my fanfics :) Means I did something right. I think he's cute although he cheats on his girls Wait, what? Who are these girls of...

Easy-to-understand Episodes

I need some help. I'm going to start an English Club at the high school I'm teaching at in Japan for the students who really want to practice their speaking and listening skills. And I thought, what better way to practice listening than by listening to AIO, right? So I need suggestions of episodes o...

Cookie song?? I can't wait till I get real internet access at home and can listen to everybody else :) Congrats, Laura and Dr. Watson!

I'm glad to hear that you're safe and well! Hopefully you'll be able to get connected with a phone and internet access soon! Thanks, Catspaw! It's nice to be (sorta) back. I did get a cellphone yesterday, but for the internet they really need my card first . . . having internet access will really c...

Thanks for the well-wishes and prayers, everyone! I'm here in Japan now, but don't have internet access yet . . . need my foreign resident card first. I'm at an internet cafe in the middle of a giant mall. It's pretty nice here but I only know a few people in the area and I don't have a phone or any...

I biked a little over 70 miles one day on Spoke Folk. I don't know if I'd do it on my own, but it's nice going with lots of friends and some support vans :) And long bike rides make it so easy to fall asleep at night.

In ten days I'll be off to Otaru, Hokkaido, Japan to teach English for at least a year--I thought I'd post about it now before I forget :) I'm getting a leeeetle stressed out, so I'd really appreciate prayers for a safe trip/easy time settling in. I'm going to try to set up internet access ASAP, but...

What I try to keep in mind when I casually view an episode of a TV show is that I'm not seeing what the fans see. The fans see a complex net of continuing storylines and character relationships. I see scenes I can't relate to, out of context. I checked Alias out of the library, but unfortunatly it w...

I am working/living in Dublin 22--Clondalkin. It used to be a huge monestary-- I'm right next to this amazing tall stone tower that was used by the monks to hide in while Vikings pillaged the village. Awesome! Clondalkin, Clondalkin . . . it sounds so familiar, but I don't really remember seeing it...

Ow. I hope you feel better soon :-| Aside from everyone else's good suggestions, a folky remedy I used was homeopathic arnica montana . . . it's often recommended for post-surgery to reduce swelling and bruising. Make sure you get the homeopathic stuff, though, since arnica itself is poisonous. It c...

Whoah, awesome! What part of town are you living/working in? I lived in Rathmines and worked in Dublin 10 for awhile in 2003. Have you seen the Iveagh Gardens yet? It's just south of St. Stephen's Green, but tucked away behind a wall and some buildings, making it infinately less crowded. It has a he...

Spiderman. Usually I can find some redeeming feature in popular movies, but this one was so boring. And the villain made me laugh in an I-can't-believe-we're-supposed-to-be-taking-this-seriously way. And I wanted to slap the helpless-girl-standing-around-screaming.

Hee, I love quotes. Especially like the two just posted. What're they from? Okay, digging into my favorite bookquotes file . . . Most of them seem to come from Terry Pratchett. Not always funny, sometimes just beautiful. "Mister Teatime had a truly brilliant mind, but it was brilliant like a fr...
