Re: Missionary Biographies

Oooh...my darling sister and I went to this OMF conference (Previously the China Inland Mission) and heard Hudson Taylor's grandson speak!!! That is really cool! I am really enjoying Hudson Taylor's biography. It would be neat to hear his grandson and hear about the mission now. The most interestin...

I've been praying too. A couple from our church moved to New Orleans a few months ago. They made it back here safely, but they have lost everything. Our church is planning to help them. There are so many people still there without help though!

Missionary Biographies

Has anyone read any missionary biographies recently? Did you like them? What are your favorites? One of my favorite ones was A Chance to Die by Elisabeth Elliot. It is about Amy Carmichael. She was a missionary in India and she stayed there until she died. She was able to save many children from hor...

Favorite Bible Verses

What are some Bible verses that have meant a lot to you? Why are they some of your favorites? I'll start: Two of my favorite verses are Job 42:2-3. They first stuck out to me at a time when I was facing a situation where I didn't see how any good could come out of it. These verses reminded me that G...

It was up to $3.00 in some towns near us today. One of the gas stations that had it lower ran out of gas! It is $2.89 in the small town that I am in and we still have gas so far.

I have seen the extended versions and I own the last two. I would like to get Fellowship of the Ring when I have the money. I read the books before I saw the movies. I was disappointed when I saw how much of the story the movies had left out. The extended versions helped with that a little bit. I wo...

I have one. It is one of the least expensive ones that I could find though. I got it because I have several old radio shows and conference recordings on MP3. I travel a lot, so I use the MP3 player a lot while travelling. I think that it is a good investment if you will use it much.

I am reading Daniel right now, but will probably finish it today. I love to read about how Daniel and his friends stood up for the Lord! They chose to obey and trust God in the midst of troubling circumstances. I am trying to read through the Bible this year, however, I am doing it in a random order...
