Re: Roommates

I had a roommate for a month (which is really not very long) when I studied abroad in Costa Rica, and the best advice I can give you is just to be friendly and considerate. I met her about a week before we flew to San José, and we got along fine. Be yourself, but always be flexible and willing to co...

To each his own. :p I definitely wouldn't use the words "highly entertaining" to describe that film.

Re: What Not to Watch

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

I wasted 112 precious minutes of my life on possibly the most useless film ever made.

Re: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

I watched the first movie before I read the books, and I honestly think the films are better than the books (at least so far), which is a rare occurrence for me. (For the record, I think Catching Fire was actually better than the first film, which was also quite good.) Because you watched the movie...

Re: Frozen

Yes, I saw that one too. \:D/ I just love the different connotation of the song in French. For example, in English Elsa sings, "The cold never bothered me anyway!" but in French this line is rendered as "The cold is the price for my freedom." (You all probably didn't want to know...

Why do you boys have to be so complicated. :x Humor intended.

Anyway, since we're on the topic of "Let It Go," have any of you listened to it in a different language? I actually like the French version even better than the English version.

Re: Frozen

You know, I actually expected you to really enjoy Frozen , bookworm. I have no idea why lol. It's easily one of my favorite films because of the selfless, sacrificial love constantly demonstrated by Anna. I don't think you see that type of unconditional love in very many films these days, so that's ...

Well then, defend yourself, Jelly. \:D/ (I promise to listen very attentively to your argument before judging you, even though I haven't seen the film for myself. ;) )

I don’t entirely disagree. You could validly say he is Russian now in that sense, but that’s still entirely different than having a Russian born athlete win. Fair enough. \:D/ Now I have to mention the big win.... Davis and White are GOLD, baby! (Sorry, my dear Canadians. :- ) Those Jamaican bobsle...

Addressing Moriarty then. The bit after the credits wasn’t real, in episode context. He’s talking directly to the viewer, it’s just something for them to squee at. All that’s in the world of the show was that gif image on all the screens. It’s not a video of him, because he wasn’t talking. It was j...

Re: Dialect Quiz

My three most similar cities are Yonkers, Newark, and New York City, which is interesting because I was born in New York, but I actually grew up here in the South. (We moved down when I was three years old.) My father's family is Italian, however, so I guess I retained my dialect from growing up aro...
