It also costs upfront to adopt a child. Can be $1000 from foster care, $10,000 for private adoption plus attorney fees. Then there are the background checks. A person or family can be denied just because it doesn't 'look' like they'd have enough money to raise a kid with the right 'quality of life'....

Re: Odyssey + the Real World
I came to a revelation today. My grandfather is like an Odyssey conglomeration, and he doesn't even know it. When I got my braces off, he drove me to the orthodontist. I had a tooth that had been slightly yellowed in the process of the braces being on, and when I told him about it, he said, "T...

Re: Album 57: A Call to Something More
But do remember that you described him as "deranged" (an adjective that I think describes him very well). It's possible that the effects of the virus as well as perhaps a subconscious knowledge that things were falling apart (a man as clever as he probably deduced that something happened ...

But then again, it's seemed lame to 2). Kill off a deranged scientist by his own experiments, then have his "spirit" come back in cyberspace This is not exactly how I'd describe Blackgaard (if this is who you are talking about). He was more than just a scientist, though he was 'deranged' ...

This story never really made sense to me before, but that is a good explanation, Christian.
My philosophy professor really liked this story the fig tree for some reason. He was a former atheist who had converted to Judaism.

Re: Who should Jason marry?
Did I miss something? Is Jason a Time Lord, too? And did he regenerate and become an 86 year old incarnation of himself? Please explain this, Miss Trandy. I want to know what this means. (All the Doctor Who fans just went \:D/ right now.) Well, if Whit is a Time Lord, then it stands to reason Jason...

Re: Album 57: A Call to Something More
I think a good possibility is Dan Isidro. He's done mission work in South America. This is the man from A Mission for Jimmy , correct? If so, why would it be an "old friend" of Connie's? Sure, he spoke at the Odyssey Community Church missions conference once, but that would only classify ...

Re: What have you bought lately?
I bought: dry erase markers, pretzel M&Ms, a 3-subject notebook, makeup sponges, and a pansy eggplant (seeds in this egg thing that are supposed to grow after you break it open and add water. I was curious. And it was on sale. )

Re: Odyssey + the Real World
I get flashbacks of the most recent episodes I listened to when see some dishes I need to do because I listen to Odyssey when I do dishes. It's the only way I can stand it. :) Also I remember certain eps when I look at the room I painted or think of the time I painted my uncle's house--went through ...

Re: Doctor Who Series Preview
I was kind of rooting for a little older Doctor, which we got, just because we haven't had one in a while. Can't keep getting younger (which is what my mom thought was happening :) ). I'm not sure what to think about him because I haven't seen him in anything as an actor; of course, each time there ...

Re: Album 57: A Call to Something More
Does the "love" mentioned in The Pilot mean that her old friend loves her??? It better not... unless the old friend is Jason :D Agreed. :D To me it sounds like something from the past and two people the 'old friend' knew fell in love, or the 'old friend' fell in love with someone. "O...

Re: Album 57: A Call to Something More
The Pilot seems to be more of a key episode than we previously thought. Here's something interesting you guys might like. It's an excerpt of an email from Brock Eastman: "....And ironically I just opened the folder with all episodes in #57 to take a listen. Perhaps I'll have something to share...

Re: Who should Jason marry?
I don't think they'd get along very well, if for no other reason than Jason's likely disapproval of Jack Bauer's...erm, "information-gaining" techniques. ;) Yes, there is that. I've only seen a couple seasons of 24. But they could start out working together, getting along at first, and th...

Re: Who should Jason marry?
Please don't bring Doctor Who into this... >_> :boohoo: Aw, you don't like Doctor Who?! Everrrryone should like him. It would be fun to have crossovers, but seriously, it's probably not going to happen outside of fanfiction. Though I can just see Jason and Jack Bauer having an adventure toget...

Re: Who should Jason marry?
Hey, Tiger, we could do this! Let's send a petition to Focus to do a 24 crossover with Odyssey . Bring in Keifer Sutherland and Townsend Coleman, and let the magic begin. After all, it wouldn't seem too strange. Jason's already done work for the NSA and FBI, having to do some work for CTU wouldn't ...
