The new 17" MBP's 8hr battery life and 1000 charge cycle is amazing by the way. I was browsing apple.com, and refreshed the page when that came up, and I nearly fell out of my chair. But I don't have $2,799 :(. The Dell Amado supposedly will get 27 hours of battery life, or some such craziness...

Arwen: If you want instantaneous shutter click, get a DSLR. There are no pauses by clicking the shutter and taking the picture.
As well as start up time, and shut down.
But I would take the Canon Powershot.
