Re: Tron: Uprising

I watched it and it was quite good. I've seen neither of the movies, so I probably missed a lot of the references and stuff, but I still thought it was good. The story line was good, the characters were good, the music and animation were very well done. However, I heard it was cancelled, so I guess ...

Maybe it is saying that the accident was not an accident, but a murder by a rival spying agency.

That must mean it's effective. \:D/
Yeah, it's effective, but that doesn't mean we have to like it. Both The Jungle and The Grapes of Wrath weren't books I liked, but they both showed the reality of the times during which they took place.

Re: Man of Steel (2013's Superman)

I just got back from seeing it. Great movie. I wished there was a little less action and more story though. And superman defeated the villain just by cracking his head?? I believe Superman broke Zod's neck. I agree. I would have been perfectly fine with a little less action and a bit more steadycam.

I went to the Farmer's Market today with my brother and it was so windy that I nearly blew away. Yep, I think I might need to gain weight.

The Map of Time by Felix J. Palma. Not a bad book, but a bit confusing.

Me too! Still, because of time zones, you'll probably be done by the time I take it.

Re: What books are you reading?

I recently finished Trust No One, the last book in the Cahills vs Vespers series. I also finished Caught, the fifth book in the The Missing series. Last, but not least, I finished Les Miserables.

That's amazing. I just finished the exact same book.

Right now I'm working on The Medusa Plot, first book in the Cahills vs. Vespers series.

Re: What books are you reading?

I'm currently reading "Caught" by Margaret Peterson Haddix. It's book 5 in "The Missing", a series I've been reading lately That's a great series! I've only gotten to book four (our library is quite slow on some things, and I'm quite busy), but what I read was great. And then, I...

Re: Doctor Who Series Preview

I've still to watch all of this, but I saw about three quarters of it. The episode kind of disappointed me, actually. Perhaps it's cause of the small parts I missed. I did like the Sherlock part and I liked that they brought back the Intelligence (Second Doctor reference, hurrah!) I'm looking forwar...

Re: What Not to Read

I must say, Moby Dick is on my list. The original is just far too long. I prefer the Children's Illustrated Classics version with a picture on every other page and only about 150 pages long.

Re: The 39 Clues: The Movie

I wonder how they plan to do it. Will they do a movie for each book? I think there's barely enough content in each book for a two hour movie, unless they add a bunch of stuff. Yet, if they combine books they'll probably end up cutting a bunch.

Re: redundant use of 'about'

I think saying 'About five or six' is giving the about a greater range. For example, if by using the word about you mean two above or two below, then saying 'about five or six' would give it two above/below five and two above/below six. If that makes sense.
However, it is still slightly redundant.

What I meant was that what gay used to mean (happy) is the opposite of how some people use it now (stupid).

The ironic thing is that gay originally meant the complete opposite of how some people use it now.
