He's looking for the 'Silent One'.

Postby Oba-rai » Sun Sep 10, 2006 7:19 am

Don't you recognize that Blackgaard is looking for the Silent One - the mineral component of TA-418 which is a part of a deadly virus called Ruku. The silent one is Ruka.

To quote from the compete guide from Adventures in Odyssey,

"Jason reveals to Jack that the mysterious mineral is a component of a compound called TA-418, which was part of a deadly virus called Ruku. This Ruku was used by a terrorist group Dr. Blackgaard was connected with in Switzerland. It's clear now that EVERYTHING has happened in Odyssey has been part of Blackgard's scheme to gain unlimited access to the mineral under Whit's End."

If we follow this train of thought, Blackgaard has been shutting down the buildings in McCallister park - remember the tunnel which was rumoured to hold vast amounts of Ruka?

So the question is now - how to keep Blackgaard from using this Ruka (if he's found any) or how to keep him from finding any.

To be a pedant, it was referred to as ru -- ka, meaning the word's probably longer than that and data was missing from Eugene's backups...
Regardless, as Finneman's was opened earlier than the schedule allowed, it would appear as though he has indeed located what he wanted...

This makes sense, thats why they aren't shutting down any of the Old Gower Road boards, they're searching for that underground tunnel! I will now go back and listen to those episodes for clues! TAPE DECK RELEASE!

But wouldn't Blackgaard already have the mineral? At the end of "The Final Conflict," Proffesor Bovril said that he could have used the mineral to make an antidote to the virus that would have "saved" Blackgaard. Well, Blackgaard is back to full health now, so he must have it. Although, maybe he wants more of it for some reason...

In DBD, he wanted large quantites of the mineral to make Ruku indestructible and "hold entire nations hostage". He wants it now so...he can hold the entire Internet hostage!

Well, you never know what clues might be found in a dumpster! I'm heading over to the Whit's... Er, Blackgaard's Castle dumpster now to see if I can find parts of the Trank Tank.
I just came from the Harlequinn and found the engine.

Actually he's not healthy. He said in his new regime explanation, he is merely alive. The virus still
thrives
within his veins.

No, if you read further:

Fortunately for our goals and my health, Mr. Glossman was able to find another way to get the items we required. He returned the DNA, an item that now had little value to us, and we were able to develop a cure that I desperately required. However, that bungler Fenix had to go and purchase the DNA from the store! Shadowpaw discovered this and quickly destroyed the DNA, while I was administered the cure. In less than a week I was fully recovered and have never felt better in my life!
