Gee, that doesn't seem fair. I mean, I don't want them to lose money or anything, but I should be able to share my cds with friends. Like if you came over and listened, then it wouldn't be illegal would it? What's the difference? :-k

If your friends visit you and listen to something with you, they do not have a permanent copy of it that they can keep forever and also potentially share with other people. :) If you lent a set of CDs to a friend, and they listened to them and then returned them, that would also be fine. They wouldn't have an actual copy of them just listening to them. But that isn't what was being suggested here.

yeah... it's a fairly fine line to some, and pretty gray to others, but Catspaw explained the theory behind it pretty well. :) Not that I entirely agree with it, or that I disagree with it. ;)
