Escaping the Laboratory Sign-Ups

The place where role players come to play! If you want to start an interactive war, chat with real citizens of the town, or find other uses for your faction, this field can accommodate those desires. As with anything else, please try to keep your role playing appropriate... but you're still welcome to have a little fun!

Escaping the Laboratory Sign-Ups

Postby Penguin » Wed Mar 23, 2016 11:18 pm

This is an RPG game, but much simpler. There is no character creating or anything of that sort. This is just a "single action at a time that's based on luck" kind of RPG. ;) So don't think you can't join simply because you're not good at RPGs. :P

In this version of Roll to Dodge, I shall be your Game Master (GM). The characters are test subjects for an experiment run by some obscure scientists. Your goal is to escape the laboratory that you have been placed in. The laboratory has many different rooms though you may only encounter a few before you make your escape into the bright sunshine or dark night depending how long you take.. Anyways, there's no player limit and you can join at any time, I'll just need you to post in this topic so I can place you in the game before you start making actions.

The Rolling:
As I said before your actions will be based on luck. Everyone will be able to make a single action. I will then roll a single die to determine how well you performed your action.

The results:
[1]: Epic Fail. Your efforts only worsened your situation.
[2]: Fail. Your skills or luck were insufficient.
[3]: Meager success: The situation didn't improve by as much as you have intended.
[4]: Success: Your efforts were sufficient to achieve your goal.
[5]: Epic Success: Your skills and luck have combined to ensure your success.
[6]: Overshot: Your efforts were more than required for the goal's completion, and your luck is such that unfortunate side-effects are inevitable.

You might get some effects that will either increase your chance of performing an action successfully, lower your chance, or hinder you from even making the action. This may happen because of something that was in one of the rooms or because the scientists decided to cause you to have theses effects randomly.

It is not possible to die in this RPG, but you will lose points.

The Points System:
Rolling a 1: -1 point
Rolling a 2: Gain nothing, lose nothing
Rolling a 3: 1 point
Rolling a 4: 3 points
Rolling a 5: 5 points
Rolling a 6: 4 points
Remaining Idle: -1 point

When you have all found your way out of the laboratory the one with the most points shall win!

1st Place: $1000
2nd Place: $750
3rd Place: $500
Participation: $250

Sign up below or post a question if you need clarification on something. :)

I'll start the game on April 5th or around that time depending if I can get on here, but I'll be sure to start it by April 8th at the latest.

Photobucket was evil and made third-party display a premium feature. Then they increased the size and obnoxiousness of the placeholder advertisement encouraging me to upgrade. Thus, this text signature.

I don't approve of offering prizes, especially of such high amounts, for something entirely based on random chance; but I do want to participate.
