Round 1: Tuesday, June 21 at 7:30PM
Deadline: Wednesday, June 22 at 7:30PM

Round 2: Thursday, June 23 at 10:30PM
Deadline: Friday, June 24 at 10:30PM

Round 3: Saturday, June 25 at 7:30PM
Deadline: Sunday, June 26 at 7:30PM

Round 4: Monday, June 27 at 8:30PM
Deadline: Tuesday, June 28 at 8:30PM

Round 5: Wednesday, June 29 at 9:00PM
Deadline: Thursday, June 30 at 9:00PM

1. All word lists will be accepted until 24 hours following the posting of the puzzle. Yes, you may update your list and send it again, but it must be received before the given deadline.

2. In the event that you will be away during ANY of the times listed above, please private message me ASAP with your dates of absence and I will send you the corresponding puzzle(s) in advance. You will also receive a new deadline for the puzzle(s) I send you.

3. If I do not receive your word list by the deadline given, your word list will not be accepted and you will not receive points for that round. :(

Gameplay Rules

1. Players will search through an assortment of letters (see example) for words of 3 or more letters. Words are formed from letters that adjoin horizontally, vertically, or diagonally to the left, right or up-and-down. However, no letter may be used more than once within a single word.

2. Any word (noun, verb, adjective, adverb, etc.), plural of, form of, or tense is acceptable as long as it can be found in dictionary.com. Proper nouns (John, Ohio, France, etc.) are not allowed. Words within words are also permissible: spare, spa, par, are, spar, pare.

4. Once I have received everyone's list, I will post them here. However, I will only include words that are unique to any given person’s list. Thus, any word that appears on more than one player’s list will be crossed off all lists—and no one will get credit for it.

5. Players will receive points for their remaining words as follows:

3 letters – 1 point
4 letters – 1 point
5 letters – 2 points
6 letters – 3 points
7 letters – 5 points
8 or more – 11 points

6. I will tally the points and post standings after each round.

Things To Remember

1. The same word found by a player in different areas of the grid may not be counted for multiple credit.
2. The QU counts as 2 letters.
3. You get full credit for both the singular and plural of a noun--as long as you write both down!
4. For the highest score, look for unusual words that others might miss--these will earn you more points!

If the word john does come up, I believe it should be acceptable because it is not only a proper noun; it is also a regular noun meaning toilet.

Well, that would be using slang... but I would allow it. If it's in dictionary.com as a regular noun, I will count it. Unless it's a swear word. :-#

Boggle: Round 1 – Word Lists

For the interest of each player, I have included all word lists submitted. They are all color coded under the following system:

Standings

Players will receive points for words unique to their list as follows:

3 letters – 1 point
4 letters – 1 point
5 letters – 2 points
6 letters – 3 points
7 letters – 5 points
8 or more – 11 points

Laura Ingalls: 27 points
Chandler: 14 points
dancer02248: 1 point
Me: 0 points
AIOfan11: 0 points
Christian Cowgirl: 0 points
David O: 0 points
Simbelmyne: 0 points
jesusfreak155: 0 points

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please note that following rule changes will be in effect on the remaining four puzzles:

Any word (noun, verb, adjective, adverb, etc.), plural of, form of, or tense is acceptable as long as it can be found in the Dictionary.com. Abbreviations and contractions, however, are the exception and will not be accepted. Proper nouns (John, Ohio, France, etc.) are not allowed. Words within words are also permissible: spare, spa, par, are, spar, pare.

The reason why I will not be using another word dictionary (such as the Official Scrabble Dictionary) is that not everyone owns that book. It would give an advantage (albeit slight) to those who own to such a book. Dictionary.com, however, is free and available to everyone. Many obscure and unknown words can be discovered if you merely try some letter combinations. ;)

Second puzzle will be posted on Thursday around 10:25PM Eastern.

Read the gameplay rules, J-man. ;)

"Any word that appears on more than one player’s list will be crossed off all lists—and no one will get credit for it."

Although Me came up with a lot of words, all of them were on another person's list. Thus, he got no points. :(

Me didn't have any unique words. :(

Why does tay count? I looked that one up but it said it was a language or something... I think it's supposed to be capitalized. It seems like dictionary.com doesn't always capitzlize words that are supposed to be. Oh, and I didn't realize that apostraphes were allowed. :-k Is that the "rule change" that you're talking about? :-s

Indeed, that is one of them. No abbreviations or contractions will be allowed in future rounds.
