The ToO Instrument Talent Competition!

I got a good response about this idea, so here we go.

Welcome to The ToO Instrument Talent Competition!

This is how it will work. (may change depending on number of entries)
Record yourself (preferably video) playing your instrument(s) of choice, whatever song or style you want that shows your playing ability. You can send in multiple videos, as long as each one is of you playing a different instrument.
After the deadline, the entries (if there are enough) will be separated into categories according to instrument, and then the populace can vote on which they think is best in each.
I will also judge each entry in various categories such as technique, apparent skill, and possibly Wow Factor.

Prizes!
The winner of the popular votes will win $100
The winners of my judging will win $75
Everybody who enters is guaranteed to receive $20


Send your entries by PM to me (but not Me, the user)

And as a guitarist to the fellow guitarists, you could also send what guitar(s), pedal(s), and amp(s) you have. ;)

2 questions :) 1. When is the deadline? and 2, is voice an instrument? like if I record myself playing piano and singing, which will you judge? make sense? (I absolutely refuse to sing without backup ;) )

1. The deadline will be in the future when I decide it's been long enough. You have time. ;)

2. Save your voice for another ToO Idol contest if there is one. This is for instruments. \:D/

Not unless they're you playing an instrument using the midi sheet music. ;) It has to be you actually playing something.

Going off moontide's question, can I submit a video of me playing a Midi keyboard (like, along with a song)? I'd simply be running my synth sounds through a computer, not sequncing anything. (Yes. Synths. Live. It can happen kids. Just ask those 80's dudes. They could do it. Unlike the JB man.)

Either way, I'm totally going to enter (perhaps with different instruments.)

You can just send in an audio file if you can't do a video, but videos are preferable.

I'd do it but I have no way of recording it.

I play the tuba and I bet I would be the only one who plays that.

I'm okay I went 2nd group last year to District Contest (i live in Indiana) and got a Gold which is actually pretty rare for the run of the mill player who doesn't take lessons or anything. This year I'm hoping I can go to state like my sister and get a gold. But as a sophomore that's really hard to do. Btw my sister plays the flute very well. She went to state twice and got a gold. She played in All-District Band and All-State Band (insane band right there, its the best high schoolers from all over Indiana, so like 6 tubas that's what I'm talking about lol)
