I don't get it. Why the extra numbers on the bottom? It was a perfectly good puzzle before, and I had the answer, too! Has the answer changed?

It's the same concept, just add the letters up and down, instead of just left and right.

Ignore the periods. They're just to make the spacing easier.

What a simple puzzle! The answer is:

Put three tennis balls in the first three shopping bags, then put those three bags into the final bag. Now you have three tennis balls in three of the bags, and nine in the last one!
