Deal or No Deal

Post by Monty »

The once popular game show is coming to the ToO! I will act as your host through this journey. Let me explain the rules.
  • There are 26 cases, containing varying amounts of money, from $.01 to $1,000.
This is the "board" for the current game. All amounts eliminated will show up here.
    $.01
    $.02
    $.03
    $.04
    $.05
    $.10
    $.15
    $.20
    $.25
    $.30
    $.40
    $.50

    $.75

    $1.00
    $5.00
    $10.00
    $25.00
    $50.00
    $75.00
    $100.00
    $200
    $300
    $400
    $500
    $750
    $1,000
You start off the game by picking one case. This is now your case. You will get whatever is in this case, maybe. But first, you have to figure out what is in your case. You do this by eliminating the other cases. Whatever is in them is not in yours.
The game is divided into rounds. In the first round, you will pick 6 cases, which will be shown, and their amounts eliminated from the board. In the second, you pick 5, third, you pick 4, and so on.
In between each round, I will make you an offer of money to buy your case from you. It is only at these points that you can stop. You must choose whether to take the money that I offer you or to continue playing.
I reserve the right to include special twists in any game I desire.

Your comments about Howie in my other thread inspired me.

As an open question, what does everyone think of the money ladder I made? I wanted to make it somewhat challenging to get a lot of money, but not impossible.

I could have made it significantly closer to the real thing, but then we would have 14 cases all under $1.00...

On the other hand, if you make a lot have big money, you wouldn't be able to do this for long. It's a fine line, when a contest is dependant on personal funds.

My personal advice would be to go with the option that gives less money, but allows a longer run. Since the game is entirely luck anyway, there's no real 'right' to win big. The thrill of playing this type of game is what people should be doing it for, not to get rich. That's how I would approach it anyway.

$.10
$75

were the amounts eliminated...

This was not a good round...not at all. Your first offer is...$11. Deal, or No Deal?

If you choose No Deal, go ahead and pick your next 5 cases.
