Everyone,
I have come home! It has been an interesting few months to say the least, and Trent DeWhite and Frank have done an admirable job of holding down the fort. But it's now time to reveal the results of the election!
The election start off with an interesting twist: a run-off election. Gabriel Dragsack / Fenix, David O / JesusFreak777, Eugene Kendall / Sonuna Hydris, and livin4messiah / Robo competed against each other in a vote that would decide which two teams would make it into the final round. With 41 votes, David O / JesusFreak777 finished first with Gabriel Dragsack / Fenix following in their footsteps with 32. This would set the stage for a show-down between the two teams in the final round.
After the 112 votes had been tallied (tying the previous record)), the results of the final round had an interesting twist. 56 votes for Gabriel Dragsack and Fenix, 56 votes for David O and JesusFreak. Taking the absentee ballots into considering, the score remains the same: 60 votes a piece. As has been previously announced in previous elections, in the event of a tie, I shall cast the deciding vote. That time has now come. Please highlight the text below for my decision:
The new Mayor and Chief of Police of the Town of Odyssey shall be... Gabriel Dragsack and Fenix!
The winners will be appointed to their posts within the hour. Congratulations to all the teams involved and let us pray this next year is as good as the last!
PS The poll thread is located here. This thread was created to easily identify the election results (in the same way we did for past elections) and the poll thread has been subsequently moved to City Hall for archiving.
