Intentionally so. We originally went for seven but one declined. Six however should be plenty. I think maybe 5 things came up for the mods to deal with during the entire original Moosewood term.

@Agent 86: The ToO, as of now, just isn't active enough to require 8 to 12 Moderators (Even past terms that had that many, was too many, in my opinion).

Congratulations to this term's moderators! You should all now have your appropriate powers, shiny new name colours, and access to the Police HQ. Please let me know if something doesn't seem to be showing up properly for you.
