The thread didn’t remind me of anything, but this reminded me of this:Catspaw wrote:"He's dead. Dead, dead, dead." I just love Bartok the bat from the animated version of Anastasia. That's what this thread reminded me of.
Is the ToO dead
bookworm wrote:This statement has been made many times over the past several years, yet we are still here. Can we put this to rest now?bobmac wrote:not trying to hate on the ToO I just think it's dying. :/
There is a significant difference between decreased activity and site death. The ToO is not and probably will never be dying. It is currently, has been in the past, and will be again, in a period of lessened activity compared to normal levels. Is it a sign the end is coming or there is some other major problem? No it isn’t. It’s called being a message board. Activity cycles; it’s natural.
On those notes, has anyone else noticed that this topic seems to get rehashed at about the same time every year?Amethystic wrote:Ah yes, I was waiting for this topic to make its annual appearance.
I hadn’t, but if that’s true then it makes the discussion all the more ridiculous because people should know by now this is a slow period.Jonathan wrote:On those notes, has anyone else noticed that this topic seems to get rehashed at about the same time every year?

I do love that scene! Basically the whole movie is genius!bookworm wrote:The thread didn’t remind me of anything, but this reminded me of this:Catspaw wrote:"He's dead. Dead, dead, dead." I just love Bartok the bat from the animated version of Anastasia. That's what this thread reminded me of.
Okay, so we have T.S. marked down for the 2015 thread. Does anybody want to commit to 2016 already?
It should be an annual ToO holiday: Dead ToO Day!
HAPPY DT-DAY EVERYBODY!
Oh, wait... Maybe I should post DED smiles...
Now THAT'S a party.

We need to determine an actual date then, not just 'sometime around the end of summer'.
How about September 1st, since that was the date this thread was originally posted?
It's a nice, easy date to remember.

Why it takes weeks for people to respond if I post.
September 1st sounds good to me.
That's not so bad. I just waited patiently for 5 months for bookworm to respond to a post I made on the Backstreet. The Mysterious wrote:Why it takes weeks for people to respond if I post.

Your post was made after a full year had passed since the last one, so I was no longer checking the thread on a regular basis.T.S. (myself) wrote:I just waited patiently for 5 months for bookworm to respond to a post I made on the Backstreet.

I know. It was impressive that you saw it at all. My point was just the waiting patiently part, not the specific example.bookworm wrote:Your post was made after a full year had passed since the last one, so I was no longer checking the thread on a regular basis.

I see that the ToO is also a great place. I wish some ToO people would experiment the SS.
