That's right, that's right. After so much delay and secrecy, the Oddcast is finally live! It's been a long time in the making, but Victoria and I have, at long last, released our first episode, and will try for every week onwards! I'll let the video do most of the talking here. I'll save the dramatics and let you guys just watch it.

Yay! Episode 2 is out and it's a doozy! I think that just about everyone here already knows all this stuff, but hey, it's pretty pictures and my soothing voice (and Victoria's slightly-more stuffed up voice), so check it out. Beyond the main content, don't forget that we'll be interviewing dear Peachey Keen above me, and his sister, so send your questions in by YouTube comment, ToO comment, e-mail, etc.!

Let me help you out with the discussion-making, Leonard.

1). As I don't get on YouTube that often, I would like to know what Episodes 1 & 2 are about, and what content is in them.
2). Is the interview with Peachey Keen in the current episode, or will it be a future one?
3). Is Victoria's personality stuffy, or is that just her voice? :p

1. The titles are as expository as I can be without being too long. The first explains what the Oddcast will be, and will be about. The second is a basic guide to AIO, Part 1, covering what the show is, how it began, and basic character overviews of the mainest 20 characters.

2. The interview will be in a future episode, but not that far into the future.

3. Victoria's voice is stuffy. Her personality is most certainly not.

Yay! Episode 3 is up! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3B9oEcIOnJs

Coming up next week is "Is Adventures in Odyssey a 'kids' show'?"

And here we go with the 4th episode! I'll post this on the main Whit's End board as well, for discussion.

Yay! New post! Now Leonard doesn't have to keep editing the same one!

I am a cheapskate with limited Internet access, and thus using a big chunk on YouTube videos would not make me a good steward of my resources. But in a few hours I'm going to a place with free wifi, so I'm going to freeload and watch all the Oddcast episodes!!! \:D/ My opinions on them will come later, though Devon and Victoria never disappointed on their BlogCast appearances...

(Once again, I wish your podcast was on iTunes, but we'll just have to make do, won't we? :) )

Thanks for letting me be able to bump again! Austin's since helped me with how to work around that. Thank you also for the kind words. The 5th episode is now up with out reviews of Your Servant is Listening, Parts 1-2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KpHSqkfVtU

Next week is the interview, so keep sending questions, PLEASE!

I'm loving the Oddcast. I thought of a few of my "loser" friends who know nothing about Odyssey and the joy it brings, so I'm considering strapping them to chairs and forcing them to watch the 45 minute Beginner's Guide to Odyssey. I've been a fan for over three and a half years, and I loved it!

I could tell how much of an Odyssian I am because I got this weird happiness hearing you and Victoria discuss Odyssey. I'm a little over the halfway point of Episode 3, and I loved the scene cutout to the lake. Incredible. I found the guy doing the backstroke quite amusing. And just little lines like

Devon: What? Are you going to fly over the table with ecstasy?
Victoria: *cackling*
Devon: Are you on ecstasy?

Devon: Which is weird that June's going to die. Bill's probably not that healthy either.... With all those women......
Victoria: Well.......
Devon: Ask your parents, kids.

Keep up the good work.

Leonard, so when do you think the next episode will be out?

I just finished your fourth episode yesterday. That one was your best yet. Astounding. I'd forgot about the pornography reference in the episode whose name just escaped me. And I'm going to a place with lots of wifi again today, so I'm going to freeload again and get Episode #5! I'm pumped!

So I sort of haven't posted the new episodes here in a long time, so I should probably do that.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubEXfciI_ZY - The Interview with Austin and Tasha Peachey!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWzWwJxfm6U - The original take of my Skye Weldon lines, playing every part simultaneously!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uovtxQQegnA - Review of "No Chemistry Whatsoever" and "The Friend Formula"!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yk-7URF8j0Y - What would've happened if Whit had died in WWII!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPVIQMx64rk - Review of "More Than A Feeling" and "Repent After Me"!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9u9dssnZVWQ - The Top 10 Reasons Whit's A Time Lord!

Wow, having all these new episodes posted here makes it almost seem like I'm not so far behind on the Oddcast. Hopefully episode 12 will be out tomorrow night. 13 and 14 might take a bit longer, as Victoria will be at a Youth conference this weekend.

Edit: Here's episode 12!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8fkcbvvDhE - Review of "Big Trouble Under The Big Top" and explaining our views on the Odyssey Adventure Club!

Double Edit: Here's episode 13!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6uEJoeD3mM - Second instalment of the Beginner's Guide to Odyssey, in which we cover places in the show.

Triple Edit: Here's episode 14!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnjK2aI0icI - Review of "Life Expectancy, Parts 1-3". Very long. Much emotions.

Quadruple Edit: Hello! It's time for our second interview over at the Oddcast, and this time we're talking to the love Ms. Aria Curzon, voice of Clara Portland and Mandy Straussberg. The interview should be held Dec 28-30, so please send me your questions here, on our Facebook page, to OdysseyOddcast@gmail.com... wherever you want, so long as I'll receive it! Ask about Trandy, ask about nearly being Whit's adopted daughter, ask about being at a Michael Bublé concert last week or having a part in the Muppet Movie! Please send in your questions big and small and we'll try to use as many of them as we can in our interview! Thanks again!

So, I figured I'd show you some love. I listened/watched the Life Expectancy review. You guys going off on bill was great. I was gonna listen just for the sake of knowing what you guys said and then I got to thinking it might not be such a good idea with the recent death that has hit close to home. However, the review was lighthearted enough that I was able to enjoy it. I would like to point out, Connie didn't show Bill her room, Penny was the one she showed seeing as how Bill left right after the funeral. It should also be noted that Jason has a couple scenes in the album version of part 3.

I'm finally catching up on the Oddcast after missing a few, so I thought I'd leave a few comments here. ;)

(For episodes 71-75)

Your points on Jay and Vance were interesting in your review on Pinocchio...but I've basically decided that accepting the Kids Radio actors as being played by kids from AIO causes more problems then it solves... Yes, it's cool to think Kids Radio is still put on by Whit et al., but it also doesn't work in most cases... Why in the world would Vance, Bart, Rodney, etc. volunteer or even be willing to act in them? It seems to me that's not exactly what the writers have in mind...

Your points on radio drama were very good. Except, you missed the share-ability. Radio and TV can be shared with multiple people at the same time, while books cannot. Being able to multi-task while listening to AIO is a HUGE bonus. But, I'm wondering why you don't take your own advice and do a podcast rather than a videocast. :P (I normally download your videos as MP3s anyway)

Your review of Hidden Gems was hilarious. xD The point on Rahab/Boaz was interesting, but I just wanted to point out, that not all Biblical genealogies were that "literal" in doing the exact parent/son/grandson/etc. This explains a little bit: http://www.jeanejones.net/2012/10/was-rahab-the-mother-of-boaz/. But either way, your point stands that Boaz would have that family stories of his mother being an outcast, and being adopted into the Jewish faith. =)

I'm rather surprised Devon can be upset with Victoria about not "serving in secret" and yet you despise A Glass Darkly. :P Your miracle stories were interesting... although in Whit's defense, not all Churches emphasize Healers or etc... they don't say miracles don't happen, but not all churches are in the Pentecostal etc. group either.

I'm surprised it took you so long to find that song. O___O That song is in my piano lesson book, so I could find it if I needed too. :P Although, I was wondering... I'm not very well versed in music theory... but how were you able to figure it was a Third Movement? 0___o

All of these were great podcasts! I'm really appreciative there's still a living AIO fan podcast that's reviewing all the new (and some old) episodes. Keep up the good work! ^_^

OH! I made this meme for episode 75. (album 59 spoilers)

Isaiah, thank you so much for the lengthy comic, and especially for the meme! I don't know if you saw, but I gave it the rounds on our Facebook page, my own page, and I'll throw it at the beginning of the next episode. Victoria and I thought it was hilarious and were so flattered!

Yeah, the interesting thing about abnormal people being on Kids' Radio, in my eyes, is the fact that in The Merchant of Odyssey, Jack Allen makes a comment to Bart about how he's acted on Kids' Radio before, which would confirm that he actually did it. It's just one of those things, I guess.

Tintin pointed out in the comments of the media-form episode about the lack of share-ability of certain formats, we definitely missed out on a good point there.

With regards to the form of our podcast, it's certainly something we've considered. There are definitely a number of advantages we'd gain by moving to an audio format, but there are also reasons that we have to keep it video. I figure that by casting a wider net of possibilities with video (and given that people can strip that down to mp3 without too much extra effort), it's worth the extra time and annoyance and hard drive space, even though it doesn't always feel like it.

I had forgotten that some Biblical genealogies may not be completely linear and such, but like you said, I think the point still stands.

Yeah, there was also a comment about different denominational views on modern miracles, healing gifts, etc. I realize the show is non-denominational, but it seems like the tone they usually lean more towards would allow for Whit to have experienced at least one miracle larger than Joanne's, but I'm also Pentecostal, so I'm a little biased.

In most multi-movement baroque and classical pieces, the 3rd movement is in compound time (beats are grouped by 3: 3/4, 6/8, 12/4, etc), and the other movements are usually in simple time (beats are grouped by 2: 2/2, 4/4, 8/2, etc). Given that the piece in question was clearly in compound time, it was most likely a 3rd movement. I've done Royal Conservatory's Music History 1 (not to mention a ton of theory), and my mom's a music teacher with an awful lot of knowledge, so it became a lot easier to find it once I pooled her help.

Thanks for the encouragement and support! It's great to hear from people, and nice to know that people appreciate our dedication to keeping up with current episode releases, both on albums and the OAC!
