Around 3 1/2 I've been told. Starting early though, I think I peaked too young. ;)

I think I was in 1st grade. Or maybe kindergarten. I do know that my mom taught me to read with the book, "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons". And then I got super good at reading because of the Phonics Game. And I've been completely obsessed with reading ever since! \:D/

I started reading when I was 5 or 6. I've always loved to read and write.

:-k I honestly have no idea. I just remember always being able to read, but I've done phonics since pre-k, so...

I was 8, which was when I started school.
I was a late starter at everything. But once I got going I caught on really fast \:D/

Yeah, that's the great thing about being homeschooled - learning at your own pace. I know a guy who was homeschooled, and didn't read until he was 10. He's a Navy JAG lawyer now. :D

I have a friend who's about 9 or 10 and he just started to learn hwo to read I think.
My brother was a lot like I was, a slow starter, but he was in public school. If he had remained in public school for long (I think he only went for first grade before my mom started homeschooling) he would have been put in that one class for slow learners. So would I. and we both would have been made to feel like we were really stupid. That's why I love homeschooling so much. Because that's different. (and for the record, that brother is not the one I'm always talking about :anxious: )

Hooked on Phonics worked for me! (I think) ;)

I probably started reading between 5 and 6 and thereafter mastered Hooked on Reading. ;)
