Unicorn proof

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

A mountain goat missing one horn?

If you must know,
it’s some kind of young goat. (I don’t know the exact breed, but mountain was my guess as well.) It should have two horns, and all the others did, but that one didn’t. I don’t know if the other one broke off, or if it physically only grew one.
But whatever the case, it’s still a genuine unicorn. Unicorn is from the Latin unicornis or "one-horned".

It looks like a goat with only one horn. :(

Or maybe that's the point and I completely just missed it. :(

edit: haha wow. I didn't even see the second page.

Thank you. :)
I don’t want to say where it was, that might put it in danger. But next time I go there I will see if it is still there and get an updated picture.

The quest has begun!

It’s been four years and four months since I came across this creature. I didn’t realize it would take this long to get back over there, but the opportunity has finally arrived. On March 22nd I leave on a trip back to that undisclosed state and will be there until the 31st. While I’m there one of my top priorities will be getting back to that zoo and finding out if the unicorn is still there and how it has grown if it is.

I obtained a license and am taking it with me to ensure propriety.

It’s a questing license, as opposed to a hunting one because I’m against hunting unicorns. Fortunately the regulations for hunting are so strict I doubt many can observe them.

Wish me success!

NO! :x

Ahem.

Why does the state remain undisclosed if you're going there? :(

Because if too many people know where it is they might endanger it.

I’m a little worried. Four years is a long time. There’s no telling whether it would still be there or not. And if it’s not, I won’t know what happened to it. Whether it died or was moved or what. So I just really hope it’s still there.

Couldn't you find out if it's there? I mean, if you could it would be a big process, but it seems like you could contact the zoo or something.

I probably could, but since I’m going to be there in person, and I know where it is and can just go look, that would probably be easier than trying to get an answer from zoo staff about one particular animal.

I did some great detective work last night to narrow down the search so I would be ready when I got there.
I printed out a map of the zoo and used the photos I took last time to trace my path. I was able to single out the exhibit the unicorn should be in and used the encyclopedia (old school research) to verify it was the correct enclosure.
I plotted a course on the map and pinned it to my bulletin board next to my license. I’m all set!
