We are GOING HOME next week!!! I am so excited, although a little nervous at the same time. He will still be on oxygen and being fed through a NG tube, so I'll be dealing with all that equipment. I've done a lot of taking care of him at the hospital plus watched the nurses, so I'm basically comfortable with it, but it's just the fact I'd be totally on my own. But it will be so good to finally be in our own home after over 4 months in the NICU! Thanks to all of you who have been praying....keep praying this weekend that nothing will happen that will keep us from going home.

Here he is, trying out his car seat for practice:

Chunky little guy, isn't he? :D He's now over 7.5 lbs!

That's pretty much impossible, but he may come close! \:D/

Catspaw, please tell Laura to come visit me; I think she's blocking my phone calls. :( Either that, or she is engaged in a mysterious activity called "mothering".

Laura, tell your brother to come visit you and babysit his nephew. :x

(How's that, did I do it right?) O:)

Laura seemed to find me very helpful, and you know that us girls stick together on things like making uncles change diapers during their entire month-long visit to see their adorable nephew and beloved sister!

It's been awhile since I posted an update here!

My little guy is doing well at home. We love being out of the NICU!! He is slowly being weaned off of oxygen, doing quite well with that. He's off about 7 hours a day now, but still needs it while he's sleeping. He is still exclusively tube fed, as he aspirates when swallowing. They found out recently that one of his vocal cords is partially paralyzed, so that's why...hopefully that issue can be resolved soon so he can transition to oral feeds.
He's almost 12 lbs, so has grown a good bit. He's still quite small, even for his adjusted age, but he's progressing, so that's good.

We stay quite busy running around to all his different doctor appointments. Sometimes I've had 4 in a week! It's ridiculous how many specialists he has...it's kinda hard to keep track of them all.
Plus now I have frequent doctor appointments...he's going to be a big brother! Haha! :D Since he was born so early, now they are watching me like a hawk and I've already had surgery to place a preventative cerclage.

He's sure a little miracle baby - thanks for praying, everybody! :D
