That works for us!
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance. ♡

I'll be offline before then, so I'm trusting autodraft as always. It hasn't let me down (significantly) yet, it better not start now.

Some pre-draft stats as we now have sample size going into our 7th year.
The eventual champion has drafted a running back with their first pick 3 times and a quarterback 3 times. Adrian Peterson, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Jamaal Charles, and Todd Gurley. However only in 2013 and 2014 did those players actually start in the championship game.
The winner has always had a Denver player in their starting lineup during the championship game.
bookworm will set Aaron Rodgers to his top auto-pick priority.

I know I say this seemingly every season, but I am extremely unimpressed with my draft results. None of these guys, save Rodgers of course, look appealing at all.
I also know that after I always say that things actually turn out decently, so here's really hoping it happens again here.

Don't be insulting Marshawn.
But really you have 4 top 20 receivers. Should be decent.

Yeah after a little more looking it's not as dreary as it first seemed. I'm still not excited, but it will probably work out alright.

I actually don't always do that. He's very near the top, but there have been a few seasons, including this one, where I put one or two people ahead of him. They are always taken by the time I pick though, so I get Rogers with my first pick even though he might not have been my first rank. That's fine with me though, as I always say Rogers is the rock I build my roster around. This will be the sixth year he's led my team!Knight Fisher wrote:bookworm will set Aaron Rodgers to his top auto-pick priority.

Week 1:
I start out with a loss.
Usually I would be sad about that, I like to get rolling early, but this year from the very beginning I was treating Week 1 as a learning week. I genuinely didn't care if I won or lost, I was focused on feeling players out. I have a lot of unknowns on the roster this season, I needed time to get an idea what kind of pieces I'm dealing with. I think I got a lot of very useful insight from the week to use going forward and I'm excited to start the season 'for real' now.
To address one item of particular note that stands out from the box score, if I had played Hunt obviously I would have won, easily. It's tempting to get irritated over missing out on a monster game like that, but I'm actually not because that wasn't a misplay, I gave it thought and decided against him this week. I didn't doubt he would put up numbers if he was able to be used, but the thing is I thought KC had no chance in this game. Facing NE with the emotion of just unveiling a championship banner, I thought they would go down by a ton early and be forced to throw the ball all night to try to keep up. Turned out that isn't at all what happened; it is what it is.

Well you figured it out this week. Huge number of points
I am confused
Week 2:
What a nailbiter!
This came down to the final quarter of the final game! It was way closer than it 'should' have been, I was projected to score over 120 at one point in the day, but two players fell flat and even though I had another huge game by Hunt and a great day from my Defense they couldn't cover for both of them. So I was down by one point with time running out but Rodgers came through for me in the clutch like he always has. I never doubted he would, but I was getting really anxious. It was just not his night for almost all of the game, but he got it together just in time! Kudos to Eugene for putting together a solid lineup that kept close a matchup I on paper originally didn't need to worry too much about!
Elsewhere in the league we had possibly the greatest upset in our history! (I don't know for sure whether it is because I don't pay much attention to the weekly spreads, but this is a huge one regardless.) SWA, originally predicted to lose to Almanzo by 28, actually wins by 16 - a 44 point swing!

To sweeten my hard fought victory I also took over possession of the Most Points trophy!
