A little revision...

I love it!

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

A little revision...

Post by Eugene Blackgaard »

I happen to admire greatly the working of the band "Queen." They sported incredible musical talent, and thier songs are famous. I was thinking tonight of some of thier awesome songs, and I thought: "Wow! A little change here, a little switch there, and this could be the most incredible Christian song ever!" Now I realize the reality is these songs are not Christian, but I've altered the lyrics to one of thier songs, and I think it turned out pretty well.

~He is the Champion~

He paid our dues
Once for all time
He did our sentence
But committed no crime
Had no mistakes
Not even a few
They beat him
Nailed him to a tree
But he came through

And through him we go on and on and on and on

He is the champion - my friends
And he kept on fighting
Till the end
He is the champion
He is the champion
He died for losers
'Cause he is the champion - of the World

He brought us life
And gave us hope
He gave up fame and fortune
And everything that goes with it
To save us all
And it was no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise
He defeated death for
The whole human race
And through him we can't lose

And through him we go on and on and on and on

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
He lives in our hearts
For we are the champions - of the World

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
Through Christ we find victry'
'Cause we are the champions

Hey, that's pretty cool. \:D/

How about the Christian version of the Alphabet song?

A-B-C-D-E-F-G,
Jesus died for you and me.
H-I-J-K-L-M-N,
Jesus died for sinful men--AMEN!
O-P-Q-R-S-T-U,
I believe God's word is true.
U-V-W,
God has promised you
X-Y-Z,
A home eternally.

Okay, maybe it doesn't follow the exact rhythm or melody of the original song.

lol, ah yes, the bicycle song. I was playing the immigration game on a friends computer once and she turned on that song. Quite funny that was.

EB, that was sheer genius! I had never thought of that before, but you're right - a few alterations and it's perfect! One suggestion: in your version, you should probably be spelling "champion" with a capital "C", since you're referring to Jesus - kind of like saying the Word of God for the Bible.

I've never heard that alphabet one before, but it's cute! :D

I mean, a song about Freddie Mercury and his struggle to the top is pretty powerful, but how much more powerful is a song about how sacrificed his Son for us, and through that we find victory? I find it very inspirational. :)

I saw this earlier and thought it was incredibly awesome, but didn't have time to post.

So... that is totally awesome!

I've (in my head, didn't take time to write anything!) come up with some Christian lyrics to secular songs, as well... perhaps I shall have to post them someday.

On a somewhat unrelated note, I found online a while back a remix of this song, that had President Bush spliced in (the first Bush) talking about Desert Storm. It was pretty cool.
