I learned about her death from Regis... and I'm still shell-shocked. After traveling over five hours today....

It's hard to put how I feel into words. This makes me so sad. I hardly knew her, and it feels like Heather all over again. Like I wasn't the friend or the person I needed to be. Like Becky too... all of sudden, gone... but I know one thing for sure about all three: God was a part of their earthly lives, and we will see them again. I take hope and courage in that.

I saw two car crashes today and almost got into two myself. I couldn't get Lisa out of my mind.... and I was a wreck. How human nature, human error, human creations are so... powerful and destructive and... :/ I'm so sorry, Lisa and Gilbert.

Lisa and Gilbert, your family and friends and everyone I know are in my prayers. We will see you again. God has his timing, and while we may not understand, He's got it all figured out.

Wow. This is amazing. SNC was truly a member. A member of the ToO and of God's army.

StrongNChrist was an amazing person. I will regret not getting to know her sooner.

Anyone can wear this avatar in remembrance of SNC.

It so interesting that she would say that in a prayer request and then only a few days later....I really miss you my friend but will see you again one day

I just wanted to post this, it's really a wonderful song.

Quote:
There is more
More than all this pain
More than all the falling down and the getting up again
There is more
More than we can see
From our tiny vantage point
In this vast eternity
There is more

I hardly got any sleep last night, I don’t know if it was completely because of this news but I’m sure it played a part, so I prayed and thought about this off and on all night, and I’ve reached a great peace. It’s still sad, of course, but it’s not despairing.
As believers, we know that death is actually a good thing. Happy even. Grief has its place, because it is human nature to miss our loved ones, but truly we must rejoice for our friends and relatives that have gone before us to that infinitely better place that is Heaven.
I think these two songs do a wonderful job putting death in perspective of the good thing it actually is.
StrongNChrist no longer has to imagine. She has reached one of those days.

Here is a poem by David Harkins that I find quite meaningful.

Quote:
“You can shed tears that she is gone,
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all she's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her only that she is gone,
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back.
Or you can do what she'd want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.”

I didn't cry or anything when I first heard about Lisa (I was holding it in). But last night, I let everything go. I cried and prayed for about an hour. They where tears of sadness and joyfulness. God does everything for a reason, and you know what? I have learned so much from her death. I learned that each and every day is a gift from God that we take for granted. And that we need to live for Christ, and make everyday worth whiled. By taking the time to love someone, make a new friend, appreciate people for who they are, broaden our knowledge, and share Christ's love with others.

Last night, not only was I praying for the hurting families, but I was also crying out to God to help me live for Him. Asking Him to bring people in my life so as to share His love with others. I was also thanking God for my life, that I know I do not deserve.

Lisa (StrongNChrist) did not die in vain.

I found this page for her done by the funeral home. It has some more information, as well as a way to send a sympathy card (for a charge) and a guest book.

Thanks EMBEE for posting that. SnC had actually said previously how much she liked Amazing Grace. And it's so true! She is with both her earthly father, and heavenly father now.

The team I'm on who's putting a ToO video tribute to her... we're using that very same song.

I have been very busy lately, so I just got on and saw this today. I can't believe Strong in Christ is gone! I didn't get to know her very well since I'm pretty new here. But I have always liked her personality and enjoyed talking with her!
I was recently planning on dropping her a comment. Now I wish I'd gotten to it sooner. :(
SnC, I will miss you, but I praise God that you are in heaven now!!! You have been a challenge, and a great testimony to me. I can't wait to meet you in heaven!! <3

I forgot to mention that SNC died only 2 hours away from me, in New Mexico. That really hit me.
