True, it makes it harder to advance. However, there appears to still be an attainable goal and once a member reaches that goal, he will have nothing he is required to pay.

Please don't get me wrong, I think the idea of making you really work hard for your degrees is awesome and I do like the system. I just think we need something more. Members need to be charged for something they do regularly, not just obtaining things.
I get what you mean- but I would hope by the time they reach that last degree- they would want to buy unnecessary items for the fun of it....but we will probably have some safeguards in place by the time someone gets all of the degrees. ;)

You could charge a tax for every month (or some other time period) you have an item that is necessary. And/or you could charge a tax for any degrees you get.

This way people have to keep on paying.

Just an idea. :anxious:

The ToO is kind of a form of socialism- the items are all made by the admins. ;)

Well okay not really socialism as you can make money other ways. >_>

Maybe for certain jobs or once you're out of college, you should be required to buy a car or apartment or house that you have to make payments on... (though that might be a difficult system to implement....)

If we keep that part of the plan then yes. But you will have the option to buy it back- the prices are subject to change though...it seems a little high for a custom job doesn't it? ;)

I'm going to try to ask this the nicest way I can, but how in blue blazes do you get a work permit. I can't for the life of me figure out what's going on. I've been her since the beginning and to have to start over again doesn't seem to be quite right. I know you're trying to level out the playing field, but it seems like you're penalizing those who accumulated for lack of a better term money since the beginning. I know it's all for fun and everything, but I feel like things were changed too quickly and that may be only because I'm not on here as often as I use to be, but that's my personal feeling. I seriously don't feel things were explained well.

I may be alone in thinking this, but this is just how I am feeling about this whole process. Knowing me I'll eventually get use to this, but right now things are just too confusing.

To get a work permit:

Shop >> The Job Office

I couldn't find the work permit at first either, and I'll probably not be able to buy one before a pay period or two. It costs $150.

Imagine my shock when I logged in and went to my Vault, only to find it empty. I thought, well, maybe there was some massive board wide deletion and they'll fix mine if I let them know...

There goes the nest egg. ;)

Soooo what happens to people who don't really post that much anymore, but still had enough money (before the change of our economic system, and btw, was there a vote on that?) for all their needs/wants/philanthropic urges?

IE, WHAT???!!!

There wasn't a vote on the economy reset, but it was badly needed. :p All the stuff sold out pretty much within 24 hours of the announcement.
