Welcome to the Summer Forecast!
The Lounge! | Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 | Week 4 | Week 5 | Week 6 | Week 7 | Week 8 | Week 9 | Week 10 | Finale!
Here's what's going on. Each week, I'll post a new topic with a new item for you guys to make a guess on. The items are based on current events, such as sporting events, movies, gas prices or even the temperature of specific location on a specific day. If you predict the event correctly, you'll receive $10 in ToO cash and 1 FORECAST TICKET. At the end of the summer, one forecast ticket holder will be randomly selected to win a $20 gift card to Christianbook.com. Let's get this thing going!
Week 1 PREDICTION: What will be the #1 movie at the box office this weekend?
Option 1: Epic
AE's honest estimate: $17 million to $27 million
Option 2: The Hangover Part III
AE's honest estimate: $18 million to $30 million
Option 3: Fast and Furious 6
AE's honest estimate: $32 million to $45 million
Option 4: After Earth
AE's honest estimate: $25 million to $50 million
Option 5: Now You See Me?
AE's honest estimate: $15 million to $30 million
All you have to do is post which of these you think will make the most money this weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). If you guess correctly, you'll get a ticket!
Note: These users were promised a free ticket because of their substantial donation our campaign. I'll update the standings each week with winners.

Hmm... I was thinking this was going to be a battle between FF6 and The Hangover, Part III (It is 3, by the way, not 2. ), but you've put so much clout into After Earth that I'm not so sure now. I'll go with FF6, though. Box Office Mojo's summer forecast estimate puts it quite a bit higher than After Earth.

Yes, you can still guess. I'll accept guesses until late Wednesday night at which time I'll unsticky this topic. On Monday, I'll post the results and next week's challenge.

I had no idea, so I rolled a die instead. I'll go with After Earth.

This weekend being the 1st and 2nd? Also, you're missing an I in The Hangover.

Fixed, thanks. And yes, the dates that will count are May 31, June 1 and June 2. Friday, Saturday and Sunday are the standard "weekend" days at the North American box office.bookworm wrote:This weekend being the 1st and 2nd? Also, you're missing an I in The Hangover.
