Hey, welcome to the next big thing! \:D/ AE and I are sliding our platform over just a bit for one brand new and totally crazy event! We both like this idea a lot and think it's going to be a blast. I know I've still got quite a bit going on, but I'm still going to try to be around as much as possible.

Event info:
  • Who: YOU and anyone who wants to complete easy challenges. \:D/
    _______
What: We'll be asking you to complete a variety of challenges. You may be asked to take a picture of yourself wearing a sombrero, or to comment on an internet video, or to sing aloud in Wal-Mart.
    _______
When: Challenges will be posted a random times during the summer and you'll have a certain time period to complete them.
    _______
Where: The internet, a coffee shop, the attic, your parents' basement, Narnia — wherever.
    _______
Why: Because sometimes you need to just do it. \:D/ We hope to use this event to encourage creativity and inspire you to break out of your comfort zone a bit. Of course, there will be some awards involved, too.
Stay tuned for further instructions. Comments? Questions before we begin?
merp.

This sounds fun \:D/ Do we need to sign up, or just do the challenges as they come?

I'm not that big on getting out of my comfort zone just because I'm being told to. :P So... you may find me just participating when I feel like it's something I can do. ;)

I refuse to sing in WalMart.

Also, it doesn't help that we don't have WalMarts here \:D/

As if I'm going to sit here and start singing while she carries me around in a laptop or phone. Don't be silly :noway:

You don't be silly, as if I would carry you around while you sing:) I'd put the laptop in the media section and stare in shock while screaming, 'Oh my goodness, is this LIVE?'

And I'm interested to see what ideas you two come up with for challenges too..and how many you will do yourself as an example for us. ^.-

Count me out of this one. Sounds neat, but not for me.

This. I actually think the notion of wanting to stay in your comfort zone being a bad thing is completely wrong and stupid. There is a difference between knowing you have a comfort zone and wanting to stay there, and being paralyzed to do anything at all uncomfortable. The latter is indeed a problem, but the former does not necessitate the latter. Comfort zones are good things and it’s only natural to desire to stay mostly within them.

bookworm, you're welcome to sit out of this competition. The way this will run, though, you could play one or two challenges if it interests you. No commitment.

I may have to rig the instructions to only include things that can be done in Michigan. (Ride a car through Detroit, see Lake Michigan, spend a day at Cedar Point...) That way, everyone will be forced to visit me. :-

No, seriously, if a challenge involves a store like Wal-Mart, we'll allow you to try Shoprite or Woolworths. \:D/

I'm a tad confused on the concept of this game ;) Is there any way you could...explain in different words? :anxious:

They tell you to go do something that will make you look silly, and if you're foolish enough you do it.

Sort of. ;)

Every once in a while, Sam or myself will post a 'challenge' for anyone to complete. For example, we may challenge everyone to compliment a stranger. The object is to get you to do something positive/random that you wouldn't normally do. To receive points, you just have to post what your compliment was and how they responded. Easy stuff.
