Spell-check, perhaps?
Spell-check, perhaps?
On a couple of other message boards that I frequently browse, there is a button in the "post a message" page (like "Bold," "Font size," or "Spoiler") that simply checks the spelling of what you've written so far, and underlines it with that squiggly red line, while offering suggestions as to what you may have meant.
Would something like this be possible to implement here? I'd love to be able to make a post without having to use Google as my spell-checker.

I second this if it's possible and not too much trouble.

If you use a web browser like Google Chrome, it'll just do that for you.

Who am I? I'd rather not answer that question, the real question is, "Who are you?". Right now I am trying to think of something witty to put here.. I might not find anything, but that's fine. This block of text should be fine for a signature. Wait, are you still reading this? Why are you reading this? Stop. Seriously. This sentence is true.
The sentence above is false.
I dare you not to read this.Maybe if I talk like this.
Wait, you still see me? *sighs* I give up.

Safari has spell check too.

I’m not aware of a forum-side spellchecker, but as has been pointed out all browsers except IE already have it built in. If you can’t use another one, I suggest writing your posts up in a word processor and then copy and paste.
I am firmly against adding a spell check to the forum when it already exists in any modern browser. Plain and simple, no. It would be redundant.

But redundancy is so much fun! I love repetition! I always enjoy aliterating everything!darcie wrote:I am firmly against adding a spell check to the forum when it already exists in any modern browser. Plain and simple, no. It would be redundant.

Why another spell check. It already works fine.
If you would read the discussion, you would see that the only browser that my computer can handle, happens to be the only browser that does not include Spell Check, hence, my request for Spell Check in the forums.

It would still be redundant though. I again recommend a word processor if you have no other options.
