I know, but it's more fun for it to be about greed.bookworm wrote:Actually, the reason it’s on Halloween is to encourage people to hang around here today thereby discouraging them from trick or treating. At least that’s the lore. Similar to how the reason money is turned off on Christmas is to discourage people from posting here so they spend more time with their families.Woody wrote:I never realized how fitting it is to have this day on Halloween. Gleeful greed is the motivation behind trick-or-treating. GLEEFUL GREED FOR CANDY.

We've known Catspaw is evil for ages, bookworm. So of course she gives a yearly holiday to love money.bookworm wrote:The love of money is the root of all evil

And your lamp, Shen?
Yay for extra money and all the stuff.
bookworm, is money really turned off at Christmas? I don't recall that happening.

It definitely used to be, but it's possible that the tradition has lapsed in recent years. I'm never on at Christmas so I don't know for certain.Whitty Whit wrote:bookworm, is money really turned off at Christmas? I don't recall that happening.
Money's been turned off for every Christmas I've ever been here and will likely remain that way.

Oh. I haven't noticed it. But that's probably for the same reason as bookworm. I'm not on a lot during the Christmas season.

Shadowpaw started it. But then, we all knew that he was evil too.Woody wrote:We've known Catspaw is evil for ages, bookworm. So of course she gives a yearly holiday to love money.bookworm wrote:The love of money is the root of all evil
Yes, the money is still always turned off on Christmas Day.

I almost always forget about $10 post day so I'm glad I decided to check in today !
I almost missed it too! 0.0 I'm so happy snubsy told me about it or else I would've missed it like last year. D:Graces4you wrote:I almost always forget about $10 post day so I'm glad I decided to check in today !

I usually check late at night and then I have to try to take advantage of it. I almost forgot to login for it last year.Anemone wrote:I almost missed it too! 0.0 I'm so happy snubsy told me about it or else I would've missed it like last year. yes Whitty, I went home just to get my lamp so could carry it around schoolWhitty Whit wrote:And your lamp, Shen?
One of my teachers initially thought I was a lampshade at first, actually
But everyone else mostly recognized me so yay
Till the end of the line.
I started a thread and only received about $5 for it, so I thought maybe the $10 day was over...
But then I made a post in another thread, and I got $10. So, my understanding is that only get $10 for posts in existing topics that are easy to think up a ten word response to, but we don't get rewarded for actually taking the time to think up and compose a new topic for discussion... What's up with that?

They/Them
That's odd. I didn't get $10 for posting in Gower's Field, either.
