Objection to the Bank name change

Post by Moontide »

I looked at the name of the bank and the bank is now called "Councils Bank of Investments". How did this happen? The people decided that it would be called "The Bank of Otters."

Apparently even a Council form of government isn't above this ongoing scandal. I am greatly disappointed.

Why was it called the Bank of Otters?

There was a town-wide referendum held way back in 2011 where the town got to choose which name was their favorite. The Vault of Otters won by a significant margin. All the details can be found in this thread. http://thetoo.com/viewtopic.php?f=41&t= ... ame+change

In regards to this name change, I cannot neither confirm nor deny any malicious intent meant by any council members living or dead, and I cannot speak to any accusations of corruption or money laundering.

I never liked the "Vault of Otters" :noway: :boohoo:

Also.. I'm surprised it took you guys THIS long to notice the name change.

I'd like to reiterate this statement as well. But I will add, your money is safe with us-- I mean, the bank. O:)

Maybe no one has been to the Bank since it was changed. We have to be on the page to see the name. I don't know what general banking practices are, but I tend to deposit my cash by thousands, so I'm not there extremely often.

I don't think the name should have been changed, no matter how long it took people to notice. The people decided that it should be called the Vault of Otters, I don't understand why the Council would feel the need to change it.

The administration of every Term has felt a need to change it at some point. The position just gets to their heads eventually I guess. I thought the more balanced format of a Council would be immune, but alas.

As far as I know, the Change Team (Moontide and snubs last summer) didn't change it. It was in the platform to change it back to the Vault of Otters, but the administration that came before changed it to the Vault of Otters their term ended.

I, for one, only make a deal about this because it fun. =p

I noticed it quite a while ago, I just thought it'd be fun to wait until you all got upset about it xD

Maybe you aren't taking it seriously enough. =P

But really, as long as it's back to normal at the end of the term, I won't complain. (too much)

This is definitely not a scandal and there was definitely no illegal activities taken by any council member living or dead.

When did snubs get 2 million dollars in cash! I cry scandal! I was never informed about a potential opportunity for personal financial gain through a money-laundering scheme! I demand my fair share as a part of this corrupt institution!

When was the richest banker list reinstated? I haven't seen it in years, not that I go to the vault often.
