Mission Trips

Post by JesusFreak777 »

It seems as though there are many of us who are going on at least one this summer. I was wondering who has gone on one, where did you go, what did you do, and for how long, etc.

I will be going on my third one at the end of this month. I will be going (again) to the Baja Peninsual in Mexico for 8 days. We will be doing a VBS this time. However, in the past wwe have done building projects and various other 1 or 2 day ministries.

I'm sort of going on one this summer/fall. We are going to India to check up on one of the missions we sponsor over there. I'm actually only going along as the videographer, but it will still be fun.

I have never enjoyed life more than when I am on a mission trip. Living day by day in the service of God is invigorating.

I've been to Hungary, Mexico, Russia, and next year I will travle to England and France.

Earlier this month I was part of a Mission Team that went to Acuña, Mexico for a week. A church there is in need of a new building. We first tore down the walls from the original building. Then, we dug twelve large holes with trenches in between. Columns were prepared, and they were placed in the holes, along with cinder blocks. The holes were then filled with cement. Several groups came after us to continue the work.

March, 2004 I went to an orphanage in Baja for a weekend.
Summer, 2004 I went on Extreme Missions to Mexicali, Baja for nine days.
December, 2004 I went to a different orphanage (Puerta de Fe; Door of Faith) for a weekend.
March, 2005 I went to Puerta de Fe for a weekend.
In two weeks I'm leaving for a nine- or ten-day Extreme Missions trip to Mexicali again.

I'm leaving Sunday (either afternoon or evening... no one's sure yet) for Mexico for a little over a week. As such, I won't be around probably until Tuesday of the following week.

Very cool. I'll be praying. Where in Mexico are you going?

Mexicali. There's a two-day conference in Juarez first (we have to drive to Texas) then we spend six days in Mexicali.
