God's wrath??

My response directly to the first post on this topic without reading any of the comments, is that I have noticed God often gives these things as gifts, as Christ suffered on the cross to save the world, so people can offer up their suffering for the world's sake. This seems to tend to be the reason why God let's people get cancer, have someone die, be born with disabilities, receive the stigmata, be jailed, persecuted, and otherwise suffer. Suffering, offered up willingly, can "make up for the world's faults" so to speak. And there's the guy born with no arms or legs who is really touching the world. God puts everything to use.
