Book 4: The Princess and the Pea

Oh no, the Princess has been sleeping and just learned there is a Pea hidden somewhere deep under all her mattresses. Can you help her find it?

This is a cooperative event with a good chance to make up some good points.

In the style of Family Feud, you will be given a question. Your task is to come up with the answers given by a survey of 100 people to that question.

The more common the answer, the more points it is worth.

Warning: When you answer, you cannot submit another answer until at least 4 other people have posted their answers. You are only eligible for points if your "team" successfully finds all the answers before getting 3 strikes.

Unlike traditional Family Feud (http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bT_DEZz99VQ), you will all be on one team. As many people can be on the team as there are players. Anyone who contributes to the discussion or supplies an answer will be considered on the team for the round. You really do need a minimum of five players to play. So get your friends here!

But be careful, if your answer is not on the survey, you will get a strike for your team.

10 points here means 1 point within the event, but as this game will also keep running throughout the two week period there is a chance for some big points to be made. Points will be awarded to the entire team should they successfully clear the round. The faster you play, the more rounds you will get. Be aware I cannot be here all the time though and I will be judging.

The first challenge is this:

Name something you get at the dentist that almost makes the trip worthwhile (5 answers)

Feel free to discuss, answers must be placed in posts in this format:

Answer: Green

What should you do while playing Family Feud?
The survey says: "Have fun!"

(That was the number one answer)

I have always wanted to do some kind of Family Feud event on here, this is great! \:D/

I don't understand how the teams work though. If we're all on one, there aren't really teams. :-k

Edit:

Nevermind, I reread it and get it now. The 'team' resets each round (question).

Do we just start answering then? And was there an actual survey that is being judged from or are you just guessing what the popular answers would have been?

We have some 50 or so questions and answers. To be honest, I am really not sure whether they are actual surveys, pulled from the show, or what, but they seemed a good starting point. And yes, you can start answering any time :)

bookworm: Clean Teeth was the #3 answer, you have earned 13 points for your team!

bobmac: Duplicate of bookworm's answer! Don't worry though, this is a good thing, no strike, just no points, you are free to guess again without waiting. This is a team game, so you all get the 13 points from bookworm

Woody: And toothbrush was the number 1 answer worth 50 points! Great job!

Image

Team Bookworm: 63 points! (Bobmac, Woody, you're included too, but since he was the first to post :p)

Termite: Stickers is the number 4 answer with 8 points, good job!

Christian: Unfortunately, toothpaste did not make the list, that is your first team strike.

The red X's in the corner represent strikes.

ETA: Oh, and congratulations, you now have 71 points! I forgot to update that in the image, and am about to head home from work, so I will do it when I get home. But good job :)

One more player and you will be able to make second guesses as well. Obviously, the more the merrier though! So get all your friends!

I contest that X. If this were the tv show they would have grouped the toothbrush and toothpaste together under ‘free hygiene supplies’ so this wouldn’t be a wrong answer, it would simply be a duplicate.

Okay, I'll allow that, in that case, Christian is eligible for a second guess. Afterwards, due to the gap, for is round, the team minimum is now 4. After Christian puts in his guess, bookworm can guess again. Graphics will be updated tonight.

Okay, that is the first strike. Good guess in my opinion though :p

Bookworm, you're up!

Oh, I didn’t realize we had to guess again in order. :anxious: That is how the show works though.

I’m hesitant to guess this one because of the uncertainty of how responses are grouped, as evidenced by the previous sequence, but it’s the second thing that came to mind so I’ll try it.
