Harry Potter Book 7: Theories

"Books? You want books?! Ha! We've got books on hairy otters, on onions and on mars! All the fungus you could care for, plus, three triple zillion stars. We've got books on flossing teeth, plus three books on tossing sheep. If we spent our lives just counting books, we'd never get to sleep!" -Leopold the Librarian ("The Great Wishy Woz")

Harry Potter Book 7: Theories

harry potter is a horcrux. he fits the, something of ravenclaw or grifffindors, he has many of vvoldemorts charecteristics so he could have part of voldemorts soul. "niether can live while the other survives"

it doesn't seem possible that he could possibly be a horcux. i can't imagine rowling killing off harry at the end of the series. it just doesn't make sense to me that's all. unless harry finds a way to kill the voldemort inside him. that seems difficult.

Actually, I've always assumed Harry would die at the end of book 7. And with the introduction of the horcruxes in book 6, the very first thing I thought (same as ichthuz) was that Harry himself was a horcrux, with a part of Voldemort's soul embedded into him. It also makes sense since Harry is a parsel mouth (a gift, given to him by Voldemort), their wands are made from the same bird, and the sorting hat wanted to place him in Slytherin. There's so much more about Harry that seems to indicate Harry has something deep inside of him that is shared with Voldemort... the scar seems to connect the two of them in way much deeper than has been revealed. And the prophecy from book 5 definitely indicates that they both must die.

All signs in book 6 point to Harry being a horcrux (this is a theory indepenently brought up by many people), and since about book 4, I've always believed Harry would need to die by the end of the series... otherwise Voldemort would never truly be destroyed. It also doesn't hurt that JK Rowling has said many times that there will be no sequels or prequels to the Harry Potter series. No prequels because everything prior to the books will be revealed by the end of book 7 (a lot of which we already know), and no sequels because I assume Harry Potter will no longer exist. The many deaths in the last few books are just a warmup to the big finale of book 7.

But if you recall Dumbledoor said that the prophecy is just basicaly a bunch of words. If you recall Harry thoguht the same hting either he or Voldamort had to die. but Albus kept saying otherwise. But either way I wouldnt be sruprised if both of them die or one or the other dies.

I was wondering if Snape made a unbreabable promess to Dumbledoor that he would protect harry. cause he could have killed harry at anytime.

I actually was under the impression the unbreakable vow was what forced Snape to kill Dumbledore. Dumbledore knew of the arrangement and Snape didn't want to go through with it, but Dumbledore convinced him that it was the only way they could infiltrate the inner circle of Voldemort. So Dumbledore sacrificed himself for the sake of everyone.

It'll be sad once book 7 is released and there will be nothing else to hope and wonder about :).

I don't believe Harry is a horcrux but that's it's something like a protean charm, but not exactly. I think the horcrux is actually something of Ravenclaws because JKR said that Ravenclaw will finally have it's day. Also regarding the prophecy it is important now because Voldemort chose to make it important because neither can live while the other survives. I think it has something to do with the connection between the minds of Voldemort and Harry.

I was working through the story of book 6 again and I was at the part where Snape confronts Harry (After killing Albus). He said somehting to the like of "No spells for you Potter till you can keep your mouth shut and get focused. Something on those lines. Kinda makes me wonder if Snape is good. I also wonder come to think of it what if the ending is somehting close to the orignal star wars you know Harry and Tom Marvollo Riddle are in a lock in fighting each other and then Snape goes and kill's Tom when he lest expects it.

to not turn this thread into a discussion on Snape (because of the fact there's already one) do you think Voldy now knows the entire prophecy?? I read something the other day that points to a very strong indication of him knowing the prophecy in it's entirety.

I was reading an article that hypothisized (and it's very possible) that at the end of OotP when Harry was throwing that temper tantrum in Dumbledore's office that Voldemort had gained access again to his mind and therefore at the time told Harry the entire prophecy. I think Snape knows about it and there's a slight chance he does know it. But because Voldemort was possibly in Harry's mind again Dumbledore didn't mention Snape hearing about the Prophecy to protect Snape.
