Well, unless you mean modern authors, (As in people who are still alive and all that) I'd say C.S. Lewis. :)

I like Ted Dekker too, but I don't really have any favorites.

Matt Redman, really. I like C.S. Lewis, too. But I've found the most practical application for my life at this point has been from Matt's books.

Male: Gilbert Morris
Female: Janette Oke

These two are my favorites because I have been reading their books since I started reading Christian fiction.

This is too hard of a question for a book lover like me! Let's see...I guess I'll go with Michael Phillips.

Ooo. Yes! G.A. Henty is a good author. I've only read the Dash For Khartoum, but I really enjoy it and want to read more of his books!

Randy Alcorn, John Piper, C.S. Lewis (for fiction and non-fiction)

I'd have to say those are the prominant ones that come to mind at the moment, though I have hundreds :D

It's so hard to choose a favourite! :( I love Dee Henderson's books and Linda Windsor's books, and Robin Jones Gunn is an old favourite. Of course, I have to include Sigmund Brouwer and Ted Dekker.

I like so many authors I can't just narrow it down to one or two.
Female: Terri Blackstock, Lori Wick, Dee Henderson, Francine Rivers and Lisa Tawn Bergren.
Male: Randy Alcorn, Ray Blackston ( Flabbergasted, Delerious Summer, Lost in Rooville), and Todd and Jedd Hafer. If you want to laugh until you cry the last three guys will take you there in their books!
:rofl2:
Evangeline - I think the author that you're talking about is Melody Carlson.

Janette Oke, or Tracy Leigneger (sp?). Both of their books are amazing!
