Any books that you recommend?

I realize I just posted a topic before this on what you're reading currently, but I was wondering, since lately I'm really looking for good books to read. What's something you recommend? :)

EDIT: My other topic was locked because it wasn't really needed, so I'll add the poll here too. :p

I just finished reading Blink by Ted Dekker that was really good and Cape Refuge by Terri Blackstock.

Both are very hard to put down and are page turners!

Fiction or non-fiction?

I have many pointless fictional stories that I could suggest but they all depend on your tastes verses mine ;)

Of course I have many other recommendations for non-fiction christian material that you should read *hint hint*

The Bible. :anxious:

All the books by G.A. Henty, it's historical fiction and it's about a Christian lad who fights in a war, saves a damsel in distress and kills the badguy in a dual. And always keeps his word and is virtueus.

Wow, I just summed up evey one of his books. ;)

There are others I am sure, but here's a start.

Authentic Beauty by Leslie Ludy--an amazing life-changing book for girls.

Boy Meets Girl by Josh Harris--everyone (everyone) should read this book.

The Unquenchable Worshipper by Matt Redman--an invaluable resource for any Christian.

The Heart of Worship Files by Matt Redman--another invaluable resource for worship leaders and songwriters, but sections on the theology of worship are educational for anyone.

When Dreams Come True by Eric and Leslie Ludy--a great read for just about anyone. Predominately a girls' read, but I know guys that have loved it too.

The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy and Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte--awesome classic works of fiction that are incredibly romantic in nature (probably just for girls ;-)) and both have incredible musicals based on them.

Any Frank Perretti books.

If you like thrillers/mysteries, than R. L. Stine is a good other for you. Especially the Fear Streat series.

Where can I get a copy *evil smile*

I was just wondering weither or not to get those Series of Unfortionet Event's book's. I just saw the movie the other day and so I was wondering if it is worth getting the books or if the movie and the books are so close in simularity that it wouldnt really matter or something of that sort.

I really like Mandy, by Julie Andrews. The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles is good, and also by her, but you have to be careful with some of the stuff in it. I also just finished reading The Aeneid, by Virgil(English). I don't necessarly like that stuff, unless you like Greek and Roman myths. (I had to read the book for school) O:)

A book I just finished which, though short, was excellent: The Martyr's Song by Ted Dekker.

Personally I liked the A Series of Unfortuate Events books better than the movie. I read the books first and the movie mixes them all up and changes a bunch of stuff. The redeeming factor of the movie was Jim Carey(sp?) as Count Olaf. He was hilarious :hilarious:
