On the contrary, I have no problems with them trying to monetize their brand. I think they should! In-video ads, t-shirts, music downloads, etc. They have a large following, and a lot of us would buy their merch. I only had a problem with them raising $17,000 so they could buy recording equipment to follow their dream of starting a podcast.

What's wrong with them raising money to help them expand?

Because they were canvassing on their Facebook daily to start something unrelated to what had made them successful. I'm sure it alienated a number of people in the same as AIO's constant pushing of ACTS has done. I think they shot themselves in the foot focusing so much and energy on a podcast and not on building Blimey Cow videos.

The podcast is part of Blimey Cow. I don't see why there's a problem with expanding and trying new things instead of restricting themselves to the same old thing.

Bumping this thread because I thought today's video was Blimey Cow's best video in a long time, especially in the wake of the Santa Barbara shooting.

YES. That video was absolutely perfect. (Also, Josh, Jordan, and Kelly were all wearing blue, and that's awesome.)
