What game (non-video/computer) have you been playing lately?

Here's the place for discussing music, plays, YouTube videos, and any other media that doesn't quite fit in the other sections of Harlequin Theatre.

What game (non-video) have you been playing lately with friends or family?

A recent favorite at our house is Unexploded Cow. It is a card game in which you use cows with Mad Cow Disease to find and explode bombs in France left over from WWII. The more bombs that your herd of cows finds, the more money you make.

What are some of your recent game favorites?

Well... I don't know if you meant non-computer games along with the non-video (I've never played video games, so I don't know where the distinction lies).

Computer: ER.

Board: A game called Snorta! that my mom bought for our trip to D.C. Everybody loves that game.

It's complicated-sounding, but once you start playing, it's really simple, a lot of laughs, and really, really fun, even though it looks like a game for five-year-olds. (It's not. Believe me.)

I've played with a mixed group before.... It's not hard. We're all just friends and we have some pretty distinctive boundaries... everybody knows where not to go.

Dutch Blitz! I hadn't played in a while, and my friends have more practice than me, so I only won a couple of rounds, but it was fun! \:D/

I used to play that game all the time... I ruled. But then friends from church told us that the universal name for it (in the youth group, at least) is Nerts. So we play Nerts all the time now.

I still rule, though.

Bitin' Off Hedz

A game in which you are a dinosaur, racing your dinosaur opponents up a volcano to see who can win the race to extinction as you throw yourself down into the firey cone.

On the way up you have ample opportunity to bite off the heads and throw rocks at your opponents sending them back down the volcano. You can also push them forward into the ocean or one of many tar pits.

For authenticity sake, we bought a $1 bag of plastic dinos at Target to use as markers on the game board. There are alternate rules that incorporate special abilities for whichever type of dino you happen to choose. We haven't played the alternate rules yet.

This is one for the whole family.

Carroms -

I bought a Carrom board and set for the family for Christmas. I used to have a set when I was young and we played it a lot. I guess it is a big deal in England where they have semi-pro competitions. The American version has some significant differences I think.

Anyone else out there a carrom player?

Please try to avoid double posting. Thanks -Me
