Card Games

We know you play them

Card Games

What are your favorite card games? Do you play them with a special deck or standard playing cards?

I like Poker (five card, and texas hold 'em), Uno, Boomo, Hit The Deck, and many games using a simple deck of playing cards.

Anyone ever played Dutch Blitz before? Now that is a game that can get rather nasty . . . it's rare you'll ever finish a game without a dozen cards getting bent somehow. :D Tis a game of speed.

Ahem, well, as a member of CardClub, I can say I do indeed enjoy cards. Hearts, Hand&Foot, Presidents, the Joanie Wins Game (also known as Egyptian something or ever. And it's true, Joanie always wins) and a bunch of others I'm sure.

Dutch Blitz is great. Some more of our family favorites are:

Rook
Set
Quiddler
Up & Down the River

DUTCH BLITZ!!!! I learned it on my trip to Pennsylvania for a Speech+Debate tournament last week. Now that is a fun game. Another game I learned on the trip there was called Phase 10, which isn't as fun as... DUTCH BLITZ!!!! ...but it's pretty good. At home we play a lot of betting games (not with real money of course), like poker, blackjack, and stuff like that. :duel:

Phase 10, Uno, Dutch Blitz, Rook, and don't forget Go Fish!

And with standard playing cards, I like to play 5-deck-Canasta, Skat, and Rummy.

P.S. Both pass the trash, and are you satisfied? are games I have played since I was young, that my relatives always play on vacation. I have no idea if you guys have heard of them or not, which is why I said this. :P

Dutch blitz is the greatest game ever!!! I once finished a hand in 12 seconds. My family plays it quite frequently. We've worn out two complete sets. Once we even rigged it so we could do five player.

I can't stand phase 10. I get to phase 8 or 9 really quickly, and then can't go any further.

has anyone ever heard of Apples to apples? it is such a silly card game, it's really random and requires no skill whatsoever, but i think it's kinda fun anyway...
