Hollywood Award shows

Do you even watch them?

Here's the place for discussing music, plays, YouTube videos, and any other media that doesn't quite fit in the other sections of Harlequin Theatre.

I have no idea what she's talking about. She can't even be reffering to the nominations. They are going to be announced tomorrow morning.

Ah makes sense. I watched it. They got nothing.

Perhaps she assumed that the "Screen Actor Guild Awards" was the Oscars. I can't exactly say it was a common mistake...;)

Oh, SAG and Oscars . . . hm, I read an article and I could have sworn they said oscars! And I was confused because I hadn't even heard that the oscars had been on!

Well, anyway, THEY GOT NOTHING AT SAG!

Who decides where the SAG awards go to? The fact that BBM didn't win any of those leads me to believe it's something a little more representative of the general public instead of hollywood elites giving themselves awards, like the other award shows.

The Screen Actor's Guild awards are voted on by fellow actors. I'm not sure what the critirea is but it isn't necessarily the general public, just fellow actors.

I too LOVE the Razzies.

NArnia was noiminated for 2 Oscars: Visual effects and makeup.

Sometimes I watch parts of awards shows. I always read who is nominated and who wins.

To be honest from a technical standpoint there were a few times you could tell the actors were up against a green screen. So that's understandable. The other thing is the Oscars are so political anymore...things that should get nominated don't. However here's a general rule of thumb that might be a bit consoling. The best director winner usually (not always, but usually) gets best picture.
