Who here plays it? What is your opinion of this classic game?

What is your favorite civilization and strategy?

I tend to play Byzantine (yeah, I seem to tend to play Byzantines in any strategy game ever; mostly because of Civ 3, where their leader was Theodora. Yes.) and go for Wonder victories, holing up inside successive rings of Fortified Wall/Watch Towers.
Mostly because I'm even worse at strategy games than usual, and even worse at *RTS* than turn-based, so... er...
"Sonuna" Taranimak ("Sonuna" Sharkquill) has been content lately. She admired own very fine Bed recently. She talked with a parent recently. She talked with a friend recently. She had a good meal recently. She admired a fine tastefully-arranged Desk recently.
She is a citizen of The United States of America. She is a member of The State of Minnesota. She is a member of The Town of Odyssey.
"Sonuna" Taranimak likes Bauxite, Copper, Green jade, the color navy, cloaks, ballistas, cats for their aloofness and hydras for their seven heads. When possible, she prefers to consume Dr Pepper and ramen.
She lives at a relaxed pace. She tends to avoid crowds. She has a fertile imagination. She is completely disorganized. She is very distant and reserved. She tends not to openly express emotions. She needs caffeine to get through the working day.

Amazing game, and very addicting too. I generally like to try different civs and different strategies. Wonder and relic is ok, but killing the enemy completely is much more fun.

Heck yes Top, that is amazing, but I have seen that in stores like Wal- Mart.

Yes, you definitly should get it, it's prolly the best RTS ever, and the most addicting.

I have a hard time believing its better than my beloved Command & Conquer, but hey at a price like this its probably worth a shot. ;) Besides, I hold C&C in such high esteem, that something could be half as good as it, but still be really cool. ;)

I went ahead and ordered it along with Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3. \:D/

It's a sad feeling, Trent. I bought Driver when it first came out for $40 or $50, it was soon in the bargain bin for around 10 bucks... :boohoo:

Top Crusader, the Gold Packs may not include the manual and diagrams. The original Age of Kings came with a(n approximately 80-page?) manual and separate technology tree fold-out. I'm not sure if the Gold pack comes with it.

I got my game when someone gave it to me! Huzzah and Wooton! (Unfortunately, it was all scratched up, and only a few of my CD drives could read it...) Plus that was the The Conquerors Expansion. I had to shell out $14 for Kings.

It is well worth it i assure you. It's so good that even people who wouldn't normally play video games have played it and loved it.

I never played it as much as RA 2, but it's still fun. \:D/

But Wonder victories are cheap. :noway: Be a man and RAZE CITIES WITH YOUR WAR ELEPHANTS!! :x
So you lost your trust,
And you never should have.
No, you never should have.
But don't break your back
If you ever see this,
But don't answer that.
In a bullet proof vest
With the windows all closed,
I'll be doing my best
I'll see you soon.

The only reason the computer wins is because it starts with more resources and gets more resources than the human players. At each new age researched, a computer will automatically get extra resources.

That method of play is cheap! (But the only way to win certain Genghis Khan scenarios...)

J11, I didn't know you had the game! Who is your favorite civilization?
