Portal, as in the game? I want to play it so badly. :- I'm already obsessed with GLaDOS, Wheatley, and the Weighted Companion Cube.

I know several people who play it, and I just watched part of a walk-through of the game, so now I want to play it a little...

I constantly get "Still Alive" from the credits track stuck in my head, no thanks to Amy. :( And I only know one of the lines.

The only thing I know about Portal is from this clip that swatcaptin showed me once. Frankly, it kinda creeped me out.

You think that's annoying? Try memorizing all the words only to discover you're unable to sing the "still alive" part on-key. Then have a similar dilemma with the sequel song.

The first time I heard GLaDOS's speaking voice, in a Wikipedia audio clip, I totally freaked. \:D/ But it's the homicidal, darkly comedic AIs that make Portal so interesting.

$50 here for the PC version. :( And I don't have a computer strong enough to run the graphics.

The only thing I know about Portal 2 are the space, adventure and fact spheres and they just make me laugh.

Ehem. *breaks no spoiler rule* At the end of level 18 Glados says she will give you cake. It's a lie!

We’re talking about the first game right? If so, GLaDOS promises cake multiple times, not just in 18. And she gives it to you. It’s on the wall right before the fire.
If you mean it’s a lie because that isn’t real cake, then yes what she said was a lie, but the cake itself isn’t a lie, because it’s after the credits. And like I said, you can get to it if you know how.

The cake is not a lie. A lie is "an intentionally false statement." Therefore, a cake cannot be a lie, because a cake is not a statement. A cake is a highly delectable food item, normally topped with frosting and sprinkles, and served at birthdays and weddings.

That’s what I said, I just didn’t want to get overly into semantics. ;)

Well it wouldn't be much fun to say "the cake is a half-truth," now would it? :noway:

No, but it would be fun to say "the cake is a highly delectable food item, normally topped with frosting and sprinkles, and served at birthdays and weddings!"

No it wouldn’t. But it also wouldn’t be accurate. As ric and I have explained, the actual cake itself cannot be a lie or truth, or half truth for that matter. The cake is an object. You would have to say ‘The promise of cake was a half truth’.
