RTS

Post by Raskolnikov »

I happen to enjoy RTS games more than most other types. Maybe besides squad based games. I like my Rome: Total War \:D/ , Homeworld, Age of Empires I-II, Total Annihilation, etc.

Plus my declassified Joint Force Simulation, which is most excelent :-$

Medevial 2 and Supreme Commander are coming in the near future, so that's cool.

Anyone else like the genre.

I love to play Age of Empires I-II. Though, right now I'm loaning Age of Empires II to my cousins and Age of Empires I was being borrowed by a friend and is currently uninstalled.

Yeah, they're kind of old, but still really good games. Although, ever since getting Rome: Total War, I haven't played the AoE's very much. I never got AoE III 'cuz it seemed to about the same as the others, only in a different time period. Also, they got detatched from actual history and started making up their own stories for the campaign. I liked the (relatively) historically accurate campaigns in AoE II, so I don't know why they decided to get rid of them in III.

Yes, yes they do. Although C&C games come in close second...

Well, I find C&C a little too unrealistic for my modern combat tastes, but that's just me, I prefer simulations. :)

Commandos is also a fun game if you like to problem solve.

I'm interested in Company of Heroes, I haven't really looked into it, :-k but if it's any good I'll probably buy it.

Since were on the old topic of RTS games. I suggest a pretty good RTS game but its really demanding!

http://www.fileplanet.com/101396/0/sect ... of-Heroes-

Company Of Heros it has to be one of the best RTS games out right now.

http://www.companyofheroesgame.com/

The website for the game. Relic is working on the game the people that make Dawn Of War.

I was obsessed with AOE when it came out but that's pretty much the only RTS I've really gotten into (that and AOE II) I'm tempted to get AOE III but a man my age has only so much time to play video games :(
