The college degrees were a part of the old version of the ToO economy. A degree determined how much a person got payed for their "job". Each higher degree increased a person's salary by $200 dollars. Yes, we used to get that much money.

I doubt that jobs will ever return to the ToO. The jobs kinda ruined the ToO's economy. That's why they got rid of them in the first place.
