Welcome to Season 3: Best-of-the-Best

I would first like to congratulate the winner of Season 2, The Jesus Cloth (Top This! = runner-up)

In this season, I took 20 of the most beloved episodes of all-time, and put them together in this competition. I tried to choose a wide range of favorite episodes....I hope i sid a good job. :) The winner will be crowned Season 3: Best-of-the-Best Champion!!

I am really glad that Whit was replaced in The War Hero, but knowing it was supposed to be about Whit makes it a little hard to listen through.

All good episodes! I think The Perfect Witness is the most overrated. It relies a little too much on a gimmick and it's missing something without Whit, who was generally the lead character in the big mystery episodes before this. Waylaid in the Windy City, The Time Has Come and The Mortal Coil would all probably be in my top ten list.

I never really liked RFD. I don't know what the thing is about it. Life in the Third Person is a fantastic episode that resolves a powerful mini-saga. :D

FWTWBT is one of my favorite episodes from that era; the character development really shines in this three-parter, and it covers just about all of the storylines that had been going on beforehand. The storytelling device is very well-implemented, in my mind. "Exit" is okay, but except for the destruction of the Imagination Station, it doesn't have any particularly amazing moments that stick out to me. The plot device of kidnapping Connie was a little overdone.

Suspicious Minds is pretty funny, but it's very silly, and pretty unrealistic... the seemingly random accusations placed by Whit's employees and the day of chaos, right down to the electric security system, take this into the realm of fantasy. I don't think it's as good as the rest of these.

"The Imagination Station" is the greatest IS two-parter, and tells a good rendition of the Bible story, while still utilizing the modern characters in an appropriate manner.

I think ballot #1 might be slightly stronger, but not by a lot... you did a good job balancing the ballots out; if there's a heavy-hitter on one side (like "The Time Has Come"), there's usually an equivalent episode on the other to balance it out.

Exit was good...but as has been said, doesn't stick out and is somewhat overdone. I've always loved the Blackgaard saga, so I have to add to the Nemesis...one of the best of the saga...

For some reason, I never understood why people loved The Imagination Station...it never really interested me much as a story for some reason--I like the imagination station part, but I guess I just never felt any connection with Digger, so it was hard for me to get into it.

I can see why people are voting down Truth, Trivia and 'Trina, as it's probably not the most epic of all, but I personally love the episode...I'll let it go because there are better on the list, but I definitely love it--it's the first hint that Eugene might be human, and an intro to someone who matches his intelligence and can speak on his level. Ballot #1 is missing a vote. I think Laura forgot to add to Life in the Third Person. No problem. I fixed it.
Also, in Ballot #2, when I subtracted from Truth, Trivia, Trina I forgot to actually subtract one. I fixed it.
