~~~ Odyssey Episode Competition: Season 5! ~~~

After a long break, Odyssey Episode Competition is back for a fifth season!!

The rules will be the same as the previous seasons: :D

-There will be ten episodes. Each episode will start with ten points.
-You choose an episode to take a point from. Then, you choose an episode to give that point to.
-When an episode hits zero points, they are out of the competition.

**When we get down to two episodes, the competition will stop. At this point I will put up a poll with the final two episodes. It will run for one week. Whichever episode has the most votes, wins!** (In case of a tie, whichever episode had more points before the poll started will win)

I will have an awards ceremony when we have a winner!!

Here are the ten episodes that will fight for you vote: (put in random order)

Hymn Writers was a great history episode that brought a lot of insight into the real meaning and story behind the classic hymns.

The Y.A.K. Problem has irritated me every time I've listened to it. I'm not sure why, though...

"The Tangled Web" is a great early episode with some real sting to it.

"My Favorite Thing"... well, I wrote about it before:
Bob wrote:The episode that pops into my mind as I write this is the Washington's visit to the fancy restaurant -- I can't remember its name -- where Tamika and Marvin run amok through most of the dinner. In reality, you know that your parents would've killed you if you left the table for more than ten minutes, much less if you did even half of the things they did in that episode...but that's not how things are in Modern-Age Odyssey. Mrs. Washington basically just says "I'm very disappointed in you" and lets them off with a slap on the wrist. There's no real punishment or significant grounding, in spite of the fact that their two bratty, uncontrolled kids turned a high-dollar restaurant upside-down, with property damage, blatant disrespect of adults, etc., etc., and etc. The Washington parents themselves seem entirely unconcerned, throughout the dinner, that their children are not in their sight, or eating the meal they presumably ordered. The entire thing crosses the line of fantasy into outright insanity, as though it's a Bizarro World where all the rules of decorum are turned upside-down. It's hard to imagine anyone in real life having such poor control over their children.

Strange Boy in a Strange Land was the first Novacom episode I heard, and I was glad how the entire episode focused on kids, yet stayed true to Novacom.

I never liked Stage Fright. I thought it was too simplistic and not able to be liked by anyone outside of the 8-12 target audience.

I love My Favorite Thing. While it is also simplistic, it's full of great humor--as will always happen when you put the Washingtons and the Rathbones together (Sunday Morning Scramble).
