Before I went to see "Revenge of the Sith", I expected it to be very tragic, have a bad ending, but be extremely well made. In a way, I was right, but it also proved my theory wrong. I thought that it was the best Star Wars movie ever made, but, as with any other film, had several flaws that caused minor defections in the movie.
"Revenge of the Sith" begins with a large space battle between Republic warships and the Seperatist's army, led by General Grevious. This was different than any other beginning to any Star Wars movie, but went well with the ending of "Attack of the Clones". It was a cool scene, and was a good way to begin the movie, with Dooku's death and Grevious escaping; it set up something for the movie to continue on.
Thoughout the movie, I noticed more humor than had been in the previous films. Fortunately, I'm one of those people who like humor. My personal favorite "funny part" was with R2-D2 setting two battle droids on fire with jets and oil
. I sort of feel sorry for people who don't like that kind of thing.
I don't see many movies, so I don't know much about good acting, but from my experience, this one's acting wasn't bad. I didn't think it deserved any acadamy awards, but I didn't think it was bad.
I thought that the film's story line was also well done. After seeing "A New Hope" and "Attack of the Clones", it's pretty obvious what's going to happen. I, however, found myself almost begging the movie to make Skywalker change his mind. The way he went evil was a way I never expected. Suprising the audience was a great way to make the plot.
Overall, "Revenge of the Sith" was one of my favorite movies. It wasn't perfect, but who's ever heard of a perfect movie? I'm glad I invested my time to see it, and will certainly by buying it when it comes out. I will give it a four and a half out of five star rating.
