I liked it until the news anchor said something like "We don't know the details, but we know that in the Middle East the aliens are being defeated by primitive means."

That ruined the movie for me. To make it worse I was sitting in astronomy class (I had a weird, but very cool teacher) and without thinking blurted out "Well duh! It's water". My class didn't appreciate this in the least.

While not a movie I would generally watch as I don't like being scared (and the alien did scare me when it reached it's hand through the grating) it was one of the better movies that I've been forced to watch in English.
The idea that God can use signs to help us restore our faith was good.
However, I was then forced to try to come up with a list of all the signs in the movie by my English teacher, and that ruined some of my enjoyment.
The little girl was absolutely adorable, by the way.

True, however the film has some 'confuse' theology.

Read spiritual content, especially the last paragraph.

I liked it, but it wasn't the kind of movie that I would watch over and over again, which is my test of a truly "good" movie. A few years later, I can still sometimes see alien fingers under the door, being chopped off. That is one of my most distict memories of the movie, and I don't like it! That's why I like to stick to chick flicks. ;)

I thought the movie as pretty good. I was talking about it with my brother today at dinner. I really like how everything connects and how everything that happened to the characters in the past come together and help them defeat and overcome their hurdle. I really liked the acting and the storyline, the movie is definately different from other movies, and I liked that about it. Before seeing the movie i expected something totaly different than what I watched, the change was good and kept things interesting. I give the movie a 7/10. I didnt pay money to see it in the theaters and I m glad I didn't. Watching the dvd was well worth it for me.

I loved it! I LOVE all M Night Shyamalan's movies! Especially The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable!

It is not "horror" per se. It's just a good thriller. I know it's hard to believe that an alien movie isn't horror, but I KNOW what horror is, and that really wasn't. Neither was the Sixth Sense, though that would be horror more than Signs.

Hey! I didn't figure that out till the end! But then again, that's just me. I never TRY to figure it out. I just get into the mood of the movie and let myself get absorbed by it. Maybe that's why I always jump at those certain parts in movies! #-o
