August Rush?
Have you seen it?
August Rush?
I now it came out in theatres a awhile ago but I just say it yesterday and thought it was the best movie I've seen in a long time!!
I loved it SO much!! I thought the ending was awsome too! Even though it was a little Hollywood.
So have any of you seen it? If you have did you like it?

No offence but I really did just understand a word you just posted. Could you speek in a lower vocaulary range for me? Thanks!Sherlock Holmes wrote:The concept of the movie was interesting as savantism has always been rather fascinating, but the film itself was disappointing. I was a bit let down by what promised to be a rather unique subject and turned out to be some mismatched breed of romantic comedy.
Also you said 'romantic comedy'.
Where is the comedy? Of all things it was defentlt not funnt but a bit sad.

I'm not exactly sure of what savantism means. But, it's an interesting topic as a movie, because it's about a boy with exceptional talents. (I assume that's what savantism means) But, they kind of ruined it with making it fit more into the genre of romantic comedies. Which I would agree with. That was definitely the underlying theme.

A savant is someone who is born with exceptional abilities. Usually this is limited to one area such as music or mathmatics, but can encompass several abilities. At times it is accompanied by another condition such as autism.
In any event, what I meant was that the film marketed itself as a drama, but turned out to be more of a "romantic comedy" type film, since it dealt so extensively with the relationship between the main character's parents.

Thank you but I still don't get the comedy part. It was far from funny or humorous!Sally wrote:A savant is someone who is born with exceptional abilities. Lately I've really gotten into the August Rush sound track and listening to the songs over and over and memorizing them!
My favorite song is This Time and August's Rhapsody. Expeshally in the Rhapsody when the music get soft and the young girl starts singing.
Almost every time I listen to it I start crying at that part and at the end
when August says, "The music is all around us. All you have to do is listen." That makes me cry too!

I thought the ending was terrible. I know that the title of the movie is called "August Rush" and not "Louis & Lyla" but it's like I wish that they had gone more into the relationship between Louis and Lyla. I remember when I saw it in the movie theatre I got chills down my back spine when I hear August playing the organ. It was so beautiful and I love the music. I just wonder how they got all that wonderful music in that! It must have taken a long time to write music that would be perfect for a boy musical prodigy.

It was an o.k movie. I think the main character could of you know, talked more and been a little less oblivious to what was going on around him.

I thought it was pretty good. Did you know that August's hands in the movie are played by a female musician who plays in that style? So that threw me off a little bit whenever I was watching the hands because I knew they were a woman's! Kind of neat though.
