Well, things took longer to get rolling than expected, but filming began the other day, and the film is set for a 2014 release date, which will coincide with the 60th anniversary of the original film!
Godzilla stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston. The film is set to hit theaters May 16th, 2014.

Some people were saying on another site, "They're remaking this again?!" I personally have no opinion on the matter, but it could be cool.

I knew it was Godzilla before clicking the link, seeing as it was Top.

Well, like AE said, it could be cool. I think there is a lot of potential there, but it could easily end up being horrible, like the last US effort to make a Godzilla film.
Which was it? The US-made one just called "Godzilla" or one of the Japanese ones? The Japanese ones tend to have bad plots, but that's half the fun. The US one was just sort of not good or entertaining.
I've only seen one Godzilla movie and it was the newest American version one. I've seen worse movies, but there a lot of really cheesy scenes, like the car that gets chewed on by Godzilla for awhile, spit back out, and then it just manages to drive away.
