Personally, I saw Romeo and Juliet as less of a love story and more of a cautionary tale about brash decisions, teenage idiocy, and the ludicrosity of family feuds. The word "love" is thrown around far too much to describe the hormone-addled emotions of two teenagers who first saw each other—and didn't even speak to each other—at a costume party.
"Death's got an Invisibility Cloak?" "So he can sneak up on people. Sometimes he gets bored of running at them, flapping his arms and shrieking..."
"And now the spinning. Thank you for nothing, you useless reptile."
"It unscrews the other way."
